So i know this is a UK forum but hopefully you'll have some patience with your friends across the pond. I see this website All About Dog Food.co.uk linked often and its amazing. Unfortunately though when i browse for food for bax all the ones I'm interested in only ship to the UK! Does anyone know of a similar review based sight for US dogs?
 
ugh their interface is not nearly as polished, but thanks. ill do some digging
 
better but i still didn't find what i was looking for. hoping for something that was comparable in price to what i pay to make my own and that ships/has a store i could locally i pick it up at.

Are U searching primarily by price point / cost, or by comparable ingredients, @Shalista ?

Short of buying in bulk to make homemade, which usually requires hitting the sales for meat & dedicating a refrigerator or small chest freezer to the dog/s, I personally think that Honest Kitchen’s all-US-sourced base mix, plus the owner’s choice of proteIn, is very cost competitive & also convenient. :)

Ppl seem to have forgotten the 2007 mass pet-poisoning by deliberately adulterated bulk ingredients from China, which killed thousands of dogs & many cats; followed by an incredibly long-running persistent problem with chicken jerky AKA chicken breast strips, also from China, for which the FDA couldn’t be arsed to issue a mandatory recall. :confused:

For over TWO YEARS, chicken & duck treats made in China were packaged & sold under dozens of name brands, some of them displaying the U-S flag as an icon, & only in the fine print could the customer discover that it was a U-S packer who was selling a Chinese made, Chinese sourced poultry product.
It was a bad joke, as far as consumer safety was concerned; the stuff was so heavily contaminated by bacteria that ppl got sick by taking it from the package, without donning disposable gloves, & handing it to the dog. :eek:

China has a long, long history of deliberately contaminating foods for fun & profit.
The pet food that killed so many U-S dogs & cats was not an unfortunate accident, it was a deliberate adulteration to apparently RAISE THE “PROTEIN” CONTENT & thus the price by elev@ting the nitrogen content; the bulk manufacturers added melamine, the same plastic made into plates & bowls that can’t be microwaved, but are cheap & durable. // Why a buyer would test the wheat gluten & simply accept the incredibly high nitrogen as the result of “good farming techniques” or “high fertilization”, I have no idea.
But the Chinese salesmen pulled the wool over the U-S buyers’ eyes, they BOUGHT the cr*p, & thousands of pets died, while many more thousands were hospitalized or sickened, & many with lifelong organ injuries, even after they “recovered”. Survived, is more accurate.

I won’t buy anything knowingly that contains Chinese sourced ingredients, whether it’s human or pet food. // Japan, yes, China, no. They are simply untrustworthy; they kill their own citizens with mass contamination events.
