So I mentioned in my welcome thread but I'm getting a little concerned. Now my Molly has settled in she's getting more into her play time. She's biting harder, growling and barking a little and getting very excited. Its practically impossible to ignore her as the training suggests. I've been putting her on a lead at the recommendation of a trainer to stop her getting to everyone. She's just biting a lot and getting harder each day so I was hoping for some advice and also some reassurance that Molly isn't a potential murderous beast and it's all fun :).
 
Don't worry - it really is normal, and it's very trying. Have a read of this thread: Puppy won't stop biting Hopefully there will be some ideas there for you to try.
 
It is totally normal. Don't despair. Give her plenty of things to bite and attack- did I mention cardboard boxes?- and really let her explore the world with her mouth, but not too much skin. But I can remember one of our working cocker puppies was so bitey I had to watch tv lying along the back of a chesterfield sofa. Anywhere else in the room and he'd be worrying my feet and ankles. I'm afraid I thought it was funny. I think he stopped at about 6 months.
 
I'd laugh but it bloody hurts haha I must be soft! We have been giving her stuff to destroy like boxes also advice from a trainer but she loses interest very quickly and comes back to bitey. It's only for 30 minutes maybe twice a day and the rest of the time she's settled and she doesn't bite and responds well to being ignored. I'll try some of the tips in that thread :)
 
When our monster was going through this stage - we had toys everywhere to grab and give him to bite on.
Everywhere.
Best toys for this purpose were the ones we made ourselves out of rope.
We just bought a long thick rope, cut it into pieces, made silly braids out of those pieces, and whenever he got that look (“I want to bite”) - we would grab the nearest rope toy, dangle it in front of him, we would bite it, we would play a little tug....

He would eventually destroy those rope braids - then just cut another piece off the long rope, and make another one or 2.

It will pass soon :)
 
I remember posting on here feeling so upset about Kenza’s bitey playing when I took her for walks. It will get better I promise.
