My OH, that is. He didn't really want a dog, and we convinced him he wouldn't have to do the walking, poo picking, early morning wake-ups...;)

... He came back from walking Jasper this morning (after an early wake-up whine, and presumably picking up poo), and said, 'On our way back Jasper and I noticed that the "For Sale" sign on the house over the road now says "Sold"...' Now, I know Jasper is a smart dog, but maybe OH hasn't quite grasped his limitations?:D

Yep, me too..Always talking to and with my dogs. My daughter was out with me once and she said ' I get you talk to your dogs but it's the fact you answer for them too AND that they all have different voices that worries me!!!!'o_Ohmmm..:D( wasn't actually aware I did that til she pointed it out..oops..)
 
Yes, I answer for Jasper too and I know exactly what he sounds like. We have long conversations. And sometimes he 'talks through me' and can be rather rude, saying things like 'Mummy, why is Daddy stupid?' Or 'Daddy, are you made of meat?' Or I don't like Trump. I BITE him!!'
 
Oh dear ignore my two posts above, I'm new here and have not been on a forum before where the reply 'box' is just there. But usually have to click on 'reply' for the box to appear.
Anyway, what I was going to say was that it sounds like Jasper has done a brilliant job at winning over his Daddy.

Ooh, I've discovered posts can be completely deleted too. Now, where do I find a smiley :eek:. Oh yes, that will do, it's how I feel I must appear.

:DNo worries, @Auntie Ange , this forum operates differently to the ones I've used before too and takes a bit of trial and error;)

I had one of those - no way was he walking and definitely no pooper scooping.

We now fight over who's going to walk the dog!

My husband was totally against dogs. Not a dog hater and we had one when our children were younger. But he didn't really want one. Dudley was, sort of, landed on us. There were a lot of rules, no upstairs, no sleeping on the furniture, no holidays with us. He woudn't walk him or pick up poo.
We take him on every holiday, he sleeps on my bed and the sofa, chairs etc.
He walks him if I can't and picks up poo.
 
Auntie Ange,(still can't work out how to make your name purple:confused:) I feel your pain! Love the forum but still feel like I am blagging the logistics:D.. Computer numpty out and proud:cool:, though a tad frustrated:p..can do emoji's and thankfully don't know how to find the rest of them...:D
 
I talk to Jimmy all the time when I'm out with him. I often wonder how far away the men with white coats are! :D About people not being dog people, until recently I fell into that camp but came around as where I worked had a wonderful little spaniel thingy which led to me starting to like dogs, then getting one! My wife was completely against the idea, now she gets upset if he doesn't jump up on the bed when I leave for work (he always does that when I'm there having a lie-in at weekends ;):)).

Talking to Dudley today when having coffee with a friend. She said he was watching me all the time and looked as if he understood. I pointed out that he understands every word and we have long conversations and he has never disagreed with anything I say or complained about being bored
 
It's incredible what they do pick up. We were on the way back from a walk with OH, DS2 and my mum, coming back via the local shops so we could leave my mum to do her usual trawl of the charity shops. I thought Jasper might get upset about leaving her behind but the moment I said 'See you later,' he turned away from her to come with us. Body language might have been involved, but he knew instantly who was heading where.
