Why do some owners pick their dogs poo up in a bag only to leave the bag lying around with the poo in!!
What I mean is if you're in the country say on a public foot path and the dog goes off in the undergrowth or off the path and does their poo. I'm inclined to leave it there to rot away or use a stick and flick it right out of the way, no one will tread in it. Yet people pick it up in a bag then discard the bag and contents on the path. It must then take months, years to rot away because it's in a plastic bag. As well as this its unsightly and lazy of the owner not to carry it and dispose of it correctly

I wonder that ! Its easy to drop a bag and not realise but sometimes they leave them hanging branches, Very strange!
I saw a woman throw her bag in the bushes and then say the bags bio gradable . Im not sure how long it takes a bag to degrade.

It's one of the great unsolved mysteries of our time... Why go to the trouble of bagging it and then just leave it there?

Some people will leave the bag to pick up and dispose of on the way back. I'd never do this myself because I just know I'd forget!

It's worth bearing in mind that it's best not to leave it to rot in places where cattle are grazed, as it can contain a parasite that can harm or kill unborn calves. You're also not meant to leave it on some of the protected heathland round here too as it can cause the grass to grow too strongly and affect the habitat.

Dibbythedog your example reminds of when I saw a person pick their dogs poo up then drop the bag down a drain. I watched in disbelief !!

I often ponder this myself as well as about the people who carry a full thus heavy water bottle miles into the woods but then cant be asked to carry the empty, thus light bottle to a bin .. I suppose we just have to accept that some people are selfish and dont care about anyone but themselves.

I really wonder about this as well, if you ain't going to bin it why go out your way to lift it? Theres a lady i bang into every morning that lifts her huskys poo then throws the bag down! It really annoys me

Because the poo bin is two streets away from the field, many of us leave the bags at the gate. No one ever forgets them on the way out

We had most of the poo bins removed as people were stealing them! So when i go out for a walk mine comes home with me and into my bin :)

Am i missing something why would you steal a poo bin ?

That's bizarre!

Abandoned poo bags are a problem around here too. At least an unpicked up poo will vanish in a week or two but the poo bags, even the degradable ones, take months if not years. I feel sorry for one property owner here as a favourite place to leave poo bags seems to be his wall.

Yes it's true sadly, the council got fed up and decided not to put new ones out, so we just have to use any litter bin we happen to come across so i just take mine home.

Round here they dont take the bins but students fill them with household rubbish ..Two days ago the council installed a new " lid" on the bin, its a semi closed slot so you can fit a drink can or poo bag in but not whole bin bags...

I bet it leads to the bin bags getting dumped in the grass. ...like I said, selfish people.

Round here they have removed almost all of the poo bins, but replaced them with larger wheelie bins that take any rubbish. They're also only in places with vehicular access now. Some people have complained about this, but if you can't be bothered to carry one poo bag back to the road, why would you expect some poor council employee to carry a whole sack of them across a mile of heathland?

People are weird, I always think that if I see poo bags hung on branches it's usually a f**k you to the council or whatever because there are no bins nearby. I could be wrong on that one but that's my guess o_O
I usually bag it up and pick it up on the way back, I have forgotten a few times but just make a mental note and collect it the next time we go down that route, there aren't many routes to choose from so they don't hang around long!

Where we live many people choose not to poo pick even though there is a bin outside the gate i always pick up after edie usually whilst she is kicking her back legs not sure why dogs do that maybe its like us washing our hands. The dog warden is prosecuting people if he catches them. :)

@Edie, Roxy does that too! Bit annoying when she's done her business in a pile of leaves, and she starts kicking them around when I'm trying to pick up, she sometimes buries the poop before I get a chance to get it up, haha!
Not even sure how often a dog warden would be in our village!

Jasper will have a good scratch, then I'll go to pick the poo up and he'll start again, covering me in dirt - it's like being in the trenches in WWI!!

It's a problem if he goes on a nice grassy verge when he's on lead because I have to try to pick up the poo without him absolutely wrecking the grass:oops:

Oh that made me laugh:) trouble is i have to engage edie once she is off lead usually with throwing the ball and its just my luck for it to land in a sloppy dollop
