My girlfriend and I have been trying for a baby and last week we have had three positive baby tests. The amazing thing is, a week before we did any tests our dog repeatedly would sniff her belly. She's never done this in the past and obviously could smell a change!

I still find this hard to believe but I witnissed it first hand! Has anyone had similar experiences to this?

Congratulations. I remember when I was pregnant with my second son and again with my daughter my dog would lay her head on my bump and feel the baby kick, after Id had the baby she never tried it. As if she knew my stomach was empty.

Congratulations! I'm sure your body chemistry changes very soon in pregnancy so I can quite believe your dog could tell something was different.

Having spent a lot of time with pregnant women I found dogs liked to be around during the check ups. They were always very alert when they heard the heart beat.
Several of my ladies had the dog in the room while they delivered
One particular lady had the dog as her birthing partner and he lay next to.her throughout the whole labour and delivery

Have never been attacked by any of the dogs although bitten by cats on three occasions. Twice by the same cat at two different births.
I completely believe your dog was aware of hormonal changes before the pregnancy test.

Thanks a lot for the well wishes, we're still within the first 12 weeks so I'm trying to keep a bit of a distance.

I still think it's remarkable that dog's noses are so sensitive! Incredible!
