Hi there I have a 13 year old husky who is in good health generally, but I've just noticed that he has greeny mucus in his nose, and it's running, not excessively but enough for me to notice, he's fine in himself, eating, drinking, pooping but I just wondered if anyone had advice? Someone said it's probably an allergy and to give him piriton? I don't want to give him anything I shouldn't, but if anyone had any natural remedies or whether you think I should take him to the vet?

Particularly given his age, I'd take him to the vet. It could be an allergy, but we're not vets and can't examine the dog and it could be something else.

Hope he's OK - let us know how you get on.

Also be aware that dogs metabolise antihistamines differently from humans so you can't just dose by maths if you know what I mean.

Hi guys apologies in the delay in getting back to you, I took him to Thebes, it had cleared up by then and the vet said it was an allergy as he couldn't see anything up his nose! Phew! Thanks for all your support xx
