There is a new ferry expecting to run from Rosyth to the Netherlands and - they are going to be pet friendly! I wrote to them because if we want to go abroad with T, we drive to the South coast for the tunnel. There are ferries from Newcastle and Hull but they require dogs to be in a pet area - the noise, smells and movement along with being apart from us means that is not an option. So I explained that, along with the good business sense of offering pet friendly cabins - these exist on some crossings to northern Spain and are sold as soon as they are released, often 14 months in advance of travel. And they have replied, saying they will indeed be offering pet cabins! There would still be a bit of a drive on the other side for going to France but this really opens up Germany and Scandinavia for us. Off to plan next year's holidays ...

Wow I hadnt heard about this . Where in NL will the ferry go? Ijmuiden or hoek van Holland? I wish they would restart the ferry to the north it avoids all the big cities.

You might be in luck @Mad Murphy- it will go to Eemshaven. Shall we call round for coffee when it starts? :D

Oh wow that is about as far north as you can get in NL.. we walk at lauwersoog just along the coast there..
