Hey guys - wondered if you could offer some advice transitioning a dachsund over to different food at 13 weeks old. We have heard lots of things about daschsunds being very fussy about their food, however our pup doesn't seem too bothered by food in general.

Does anyone have any recommendations transitioning over from kibble type food to more fresh food?

We have heard that once dachsunds get used to something, they will refuse to eat anything else.

I think that when you read up on any dog you own, you find a lot of info that implies it relates specifically to your kind of dog - just because of other owners' experience - but actually the info isn't anything like as specific as you would think. I don't think dachshunds are any more or less fussy than other dogs, you have likely just found this because you are reading up on them. You could find the same info about other breeds if you wanted to look. So find a food you are happy with, change over gradually (take a couple of weeks) and I'm sure he'll be fine.

Hi, had two dachshunds and both pretty unbothered by food. One did clearly like Lily’s Kitchen and is now on Hills, and yet there isn’t much excitement at dinner time. I wouldn’t worry- just give her quality food.

Are you interested in changing to fresh raw food. Is this what you are asking?

He hasn't been back since December.
