Hi there, my 6 year old dog has in the last few months started acting strange around my boyfriend acting anxious in his presence. We don't live together, but spend most weekends at his and her behaviour has made me feel like i don't want to leave her alone with him because she is acting so irrationally! We did used to argue a lot, have recently been on a break then got back together. She will dig her heels not wanting him to take her out to do her business at night, panting and following me around the flat, sitting close to me all the time while staring at him.
Her behaviour is most nights when we are relaxing or when he shows me affection. When on a walk or at my parents she doesn't act like this with him, and makes a fuss of him when i pick him up from work or when she initially sees him.
She does act over protective if i talk to someone on a walk or if another dog fusses me she will warm them away and has gotten into fights over it.

Can someone please advise any tips on what to try?

You forgot to tell us what the unwanted behaviour is. When we know, we can help.

JBP, I have to say that did cause me to chuckle. But also over many years I have noticed that people my dog takes a dislike to always turns out to be wrong uns.

I have found exactly the same thing, hopefully no offence was taken.
