Hi!!

I just want to know your ways on how you clean your dogs' ears. I'm wondering if I'm doing the same. Do you use cotton buds or just wet towel/tissue?

I don't clean them at all. In healthy dogs they are self-cleaning. Very hairy inner ears might need hair plucking and that is something to discuss with groomers and breeders who would know when/how much/how often.

Infected ears need a veterinary assessment and they'll usually flog you an ear cleaner for wiping out the outer ear.

The best ear cleaner is another dog but we don't all have that option.

A vet once told me to wipe the inside with a damp cotton wool ball. Some long eared breeds get very dirty, but Tiree's are pretty clean on the whole.
