How come my dogs love plushies more than rubber toys?

Is there like an explanation as to why they love plushies more than rubber toys?

My dogs didn't really like playing with rubber toys but somehow, they get crazy with their plushies! My sisters and I love playing crane machines with plushies and we always get something to bring home and end up with the doggos. I just noticed it just now, are your dogs like this too?! :D
 
My Whippets favorites are soft, unstuffed toys. She runs around the house with whichever she's picked up flapping up and down either side of her muzzle. The only other one she spends time with is a stuffed toy rabbit that she takes to a bed, (or more often a sofa or armchair), then goes to sleep with her mouth round a bit of it.
 
Plushies are much more like small fluffy prey animals than rubber toys! Dogs like something they can get their teeth stuck into, literally, too. Jasper likes removing rope or fleecy limbs from toys. If he's a little stressed he'll sometimes nibble on fleecy fabric to soothe himself... often the fleecy fabric I'm wearing...

Do check the safety of the toys from the crane machines - some fillings can be harmful to dogs, as can the eyes, if swallowed. If they're not certified safe for a child under 3, they're probably not safe for your dog.

This makes total sense!! I can relate to removing the rope! Most plushies have that tiny string on top and they always make sure to get rid of it first or just anything fleecy too.

Yes, we make sure to take any hard stuff out like eyes and such. :D
