When we first got Botty he eat in stages, so bit food than walking around and than back to food. Logic I thougth he is making sure nobody steals his food. With in the back of my mind the household we took him from. He has no food aggression, tested it already with my cat.

Now it has changed in spitting two pieces of kibble next to his food bowl, he eats the dinner at onces from the bowl and than eats the two left next to it on the floor?!
Anybody knows what this behavior might be?

He's probably eating what he likes best first.

It doesn't have to have any particular meaning....dogs have their own funny ways and that's it.
I used to have Yorkie that would spit each and every pea on floor next his plate..no matter how well they were mixed in...he would not have it and I'm sure he was swearing about them when he was eating rest of his food :D And yet he LOVED to eat his peas fresh from the pod...I used to pop the pod open for him and let him get the peas out himself. But no peas in HIS food....o_O

Maybe he tries the first bit, thinks 'Nah, don't like that,' tries again, then when he picks up the third bit he realises they're all the same so thinks he might as well eat them anyway... (I'm only jesting, but you never know!)

Jasper usually has chicken carcasse, mince, veg and a quail egg for tea. He slings the carcasse onto the floor, eats the mushy stuff, then returns to the carcasse. I really should start feeling him outside again, it's a lot less messy.

Ours takes a mouthful of dry food, turns around and walks a few steps, drops them all on the floor and eats them, then goes back for another mouthful and repeats the process. Eats wet food from the bowl no issues. My partner found him abandoned 4 weeks old and has had him ever since and he has always done this. He says it's to show us he's eating it. I have no idea but it's cute.

Makes sence, he does like the kibble but the wetfood is the bomb! Honestly I would spread it on my bread haha. Its expensive but for the two spoons I use to mix, it is fine on the wallet. Was worried he still was protecting his food which is not necessary in this household.
