My puppy is having her first season, she started 2 weeks ago and is 8 months today. She has been trying to hump me and the kids all the time is this normal?
How do we stop this

Yep...it is the hormones that make them do 'funny things' and although it is not nice for you and the kids...it is 'normal'. Particularly as this is her first time, she doesn't quite know how to handle her situation. I haven't been the object of our girls 'hormones' but we've had some girly love when one or other was on her season. But now that they both have had few of them....they don't seem to be quite so interested to act upon their situation. One of mine is on her 3 season right now and there is none of this funny business going on at all anymore.
But as your girl is trying to get some 'steam' out of herself with humans...it is different situation. When ever she feels frisky and starting to act to it... I would try to distract her with something that she likes to get involved with...playing/massage/brushing/chews. Telling her 'no' is unlikely to work but luring her to do/get involved something else that she get pleasure out of/is interesting is more likely to switch her behaviour for time being.
I've also used Adaptil travel spray as 'general calmer' or cbd-oil (that needs starting ahead of the on coming season)..both I found helpful. But now I don't bother with it anymore...it was only for the first couple of seasons.

To that great advice, I would add managing the household so that children are not sitting on the floor for the moment. Redirecting your dog onto a cushion or biiig soft toy works for many, but take her into another room first. "This too shall pass" so don't be upset by it, just establish that no matter how frisky she feels, humans are off limits but the toy is okay. Don't say anything, just change the situation. She doesn't know how else to manage her feelings, so you are showing her where to manage them.

Thank you so much for your replies. It’s very thoughtful of you both. I have took on board what you both said, very much appreciated
