Hi all my self and my wife have had 2 rescued westies until October 20 when Ellie sadly passed with cushions and after them being together for 11 years mollie is lost with out company so we are here looking for a friend for her hopefully

Welcome to the forum, Ivan, though I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Have you contacted local rescues to see if they have a suitable new friend for Mollie?

Hello and welcome. There are often rescues that take in specific breeds, so check if there is a Westie rescue. Also worth trying Cinnamon Trust.

Hi thanks for your reply and yes I have scoured the country for a friend for mollie but you hardly ever get a reply but as of next week things may open up a bit

I would love another westie for mollie to live with but they are prone to so many things it broke our hearts when I had to take her off to the vet for the last time, I found her tied to a bush and thought she was a cairn by her colour ,I took her to our vet and later found out she had been a breeding dog that had been thrown out at 2/3 years old as she had stopped producing and had 2 pups a few weeks earlier by a Caesarian that had gone septic inside and out by an amateur which the vet put right and promptly handed me a bill for over £500 so from then on she was our girl ,and for most of her time with us had diabetes and the last year was blind but through it all a wonderful girl . A year after we got Ellie mollie was given to me by an old ladies daughter that didn’t want to have a dog in her house after having to take her mother in with bad health, mollie took to me straight away but now won’t come near me after seeing me take Ellie away in a blanket never to return, but at least she is safe with us
