Just joined. Have a question. I am a pensioner and myself and my husband would love to adopt a small senior after our own senior boy died last year. Have contacted numerous rescues, but because we don't have a garden we are not acceptable. We have countryside and ope green areas literally 30 seconds away,is this going to make it hard to adopt. There aren't many rescues locally. Thank you.

I am in Northumberland, not far from Newcastle upon Tyne.

There is a rescue near gatwick that home all over the country that adopt to people that other rescues may not ..its called Rescue Remedies ...
Welcome to the forum...great that you want to adopt a senior x

Some of the big rescues have strict rules and no flexibility - some of the smaller rescues might be able to help.

I home check for the oldies club. ...maybe worth asking ...

You should definitely still be able to get a dog - I know that when my mum lived in a flat with no garden the greyhound trust were fine about it - I think it's wrong to completely rule out anyone without a garden who can give a dog a great home. Good luck!

Hi and welcome:) Good luck in finding a senior in need, a very worthy search!
Oldies Club – Helping old dogs find loving homes. Homes & volunteers needed across the UK. This is another site worth having a look at maybe? I have no experience of them personally so not sure what their criteria is for adopting.
