After much searching I found stud for my girl, fully health tested etc....but both my girl and the stud have the same grandfather. Am unsure if this would cause problems? Would appreciate any advice.

I'm not a breeder but it will help others to answer your question if you tell us the breed. In rare breeds it is more common to use related dogs as the gene pool is small. In common breeds, you would expect related dogs to be used less.

Thank you. British bulldogs. Both dogs are fully health checked and british bulldog council graded.

OK, as I said I'm not a breeder but my understanding of inbreeding coefficient is that a common grandparent scores 12.5%, and the recommendation for buying a bulldog pup would be to look for one with a score below 10%.

Can your girl's own breeder help you cast the net wider?
