Hi I’m Elaine I have a 15 month old Tibetan Terrier Wilson. Wilson has just had his second surgery for an umbilical hernia which looks like it hasn’t been successful again. Has anyone else had this same issue and where did you go from here. The first surgery was in November when he was neutered the second was a fortnight ago. The vets have been sympathetic and asked me to return in a fortnight to see how it’s recovering but I’m not optimistic.

No experience, but sending best wishes for a successful outcome.

Sorry, same here.. it must be such a worry, wishing you and Wilson all the best

Thank you he’s fine just wish it was sorted. Fortunately our vet did the second operation free of charge.

Hi sorry to hear this - hope it has worked this time and is just taking time to heal

my pup is 6 months and has an umbilical hernia which I plan in getting done the same time as she is spayed after she has had her first season

Thank you he’s fine just wish it was sorted. Fortunately our vet did the second operation free of charge.
Just an update returned to the vets last week, he’s going to have a third operation on Wednesday. I suppose the vet doesn’t want it to get any worse before operating again. She thinks he may have had a reaction to the type of internal stitches he had. Luckily there are four vets available on the day he goes in so they will be able to confer on his treatment. He’s is fine though just it’s frustrating that such a simple operation hasn’t been successful so far but keeping my fingers crossed for his time.

Fingers crossed for you and your dog.

Yes, goodluck! And everything crossed for a good result this time.

I hope Wilson gets better soon, best wishes to you both
