Strange Bloke In The Woods

Not every strange bloke you come across in the woods is as strange as you may think.

I was cycling along an isolated woodland path when I rounded a bend and saw a women jogger in the near distance. I immediately became sensitive to the situation and decided to keep a distance so as not to worry her o:) . After a while it occurred to me that it may seem to the woman that I was following her, so I decided to get round he as quickly as I could, so I speeded up, so did she, so I speeded up a little more, so did she. Now I bet she thinks I am chasing her I thought, so I speeded up, so did she. What do I do now? if I back off she will be sure I was chasing her, phone the police, I will get arrested end up in court

branded a pervert, my wife will divorce me, i will lose my job, ruination. So I speeded up, so did she. This was getting silly, the woman was now not jogging but running full pelt down the path. As we reached a wider part of the path I put a spurt on and finally managed to get round her and kept going as fast as I could, I daren’t even stop to apologise and explain the situation because she might have turned round and run the other way, in which case I would have had to follow her to catch her up and explain why i was chasing her (w00t)

What an arse of a situation to get into when i was only trying to do the right thing.

LOL it was a bit of a situation (w00t)

I know not all blokes walking on their own in the woods with no dog is a threat but you never know... :- "

I remember Morgan once taking a dislike to a man in the street - she started a really fierce deep growl as we passed him and he did look a bit creepy but he wasn't doing anything. She has never done anything like that before or since!

I think they know when something is not right although I was grabbed by a drunk with a knife years ago and my lab/lurcher did nothing. (I ducked into MacDonalds for help and they only noticed the knife-guy because I had a dog with me - I was so scared I couldn't make any sounds to ask for help!)(they called the police and the manager held the guy down until they arrived!!!)

(actually, to finish this story, the guy held the knife at me half way down a city main street and people were staring and then turning away even though I was mouthing 'help'... he was known to the police and made some deal where he wasn't done for assault but just for breach of the peace because he admitted to something else!!! I lost a lot of faith (and confidence) in the police and the general public and although I adored my big scary-looking dog, I knew he was just a teddy-bear.)

That must have been so scary, I can't blame you for losing confidance in the Police after that. :(
