A friend has just acquired a blue whippet pup from France the pedigree of which includes Peperone Photoplay. Does anyone have the pedigree of this whippet? Also any pedigree information on Sandline Toulouse and Almaglo Gerry would also be welcomed. Thanking you, regards, Stephen

Certainly Peperone Photoplay is easy enough. She was born 6 November 1998, sired by Peperone Personal Touch out of Eng.Ch. Peperone Pit a Pat.

Personal Touch was sired by Peperone Passat (Eng.Ch. Hardknott Quadrille x Peperone Papergirl) out of Eng.Ch. Peperone Paper Model (Eng.Ch. Oakbark Mister Wonderful x Peperone Piaffe).

Pit a Pat was sired by Eng.Ch. Hardknott Quadrille (Eng.Ch. Gainscliffe Renown x Hardknott Marietta) out of Gorwynne Black Velvet (Arlane Jazzman at Sulamin x Widows Weeds at Walkabout).

The Sandline website might have Sandline Toulouse. For the Almaglo dog I have their F litter and their H litter but not their G litter unfortunately.

Thank you both, Jackie and Lanny for your help. Salvador´s web site is worth a visit: www.caballoandaluz.net We have been a little subdued lately. Our 10 year old dog, Billyboy, broke a ligament in his rear right leg and never recovered from the anaesthetic and our 15 year old bitch had to be pts. We are looking forward to mating our 3 year old bitch Isidra to Ch. Vittorio du Manoir de la Grenouillère. They are both of very similar breeding. Isidra´s daughter is now almost 18 months old and won her junior class at the Valladolid show in February under Irish judge Dick MacCoy. Unfortunately she is a very nervous bitch and does not give of her best. Any advise welcomed. Should you ever be in Madrid please contact us before leaving the U.K. We shall try Sandline but Almaglo could be a problem although this kennel must be nearly 30 years old. Stephen

I think you will have problems with Almaglo, but I do see some common females used in the breeding program in the 70s and 80s with an Oakbark bitch and a Mispickle bitch (sired by Akeferry Jimmy).

The most recent Almaglo litter I have a record of is of a dog called Almaglo Cavalier (born in 1999) who was out of a brother/sister breeding (Almaglo Vangogh and Almaglo Vinaigrette). Both these dogs had English parents. Sire was Novacroft Yolandor who was by Eng.Ch. Nevedith Yo Ho Ho from Novacroft and Novacroft Symkphonious. Dam was Oakbark Golden Girl who appears in several other Almaglo litters of the mid to late 1980s. She was by Eng.Ch. Cottonmere Monty of Oakbark x Oakbark Model Picture.

You might want to query the Belgian kennel Di Mahana as they had a litter out of Almaglo Cavalier in 2004 and may have some connections to them still.

Thank you Lanny for your help. In "Le Club Français du Whippet" web site, listed under "Éleveurs Italie", appears a Mr. Mauro Carpone with the affix Almaglo and a mobile `phone number. Three of our 4 bitches have Ch. Almaglo Norcis ( Ch. Samarkand´s Sigma X Ch. Silkstone Spunsilk) in their pedigrees so this affix has been around since at least the late 1980´s. Salvador is at present travelling to the Horsewip kennel in France to pick up his blue puppy and will contact Mr. Carpone on his return.Through http://www.kashia.net/twa/search.php he was able to successfully search Sandline Toulouse. We shall in any event contact the Di Mahana kennel in Belgium. Regards, Stephen
