Hi Guys, I need a bit of advice please.

Jasper our 8 year old Lab cross has started to get “cranky” on his back end especially when he gets up. Has anyone got a magic mixture they swear by and has anyone had any success with magnetic collars? has anyone tried homeopathy?

I am trying to avoid vets as Jasper is a big dog very very aggressive towards them due to some rough treatment as a pup.

Cheers

Paul

My old greyhound girl has glucosamine and chondroitin supplements, which help her a lot. She takes Seraquin, but there are various different brands which are quite similar. Just be aware that for animal use glucosamine hydrochloride is much more effective than glucosamine sulphate (which is the form usually sold over the counter for human use).

She also has a Bioflow collar and I was astonished how much difference it made - I was quite sceptical when I got it, but within a couple of weeks of wearing it she was quite happily jumping into the car which she hadn't done without help for ages.

A friend's dog has just had Cartrophen injections and she is raving about the difference it's made to him. It's a course of (I think) 3 injections over 3 weeks. Not all dogs seem to respond, but those that do can get huge benefits that last for months.

Thanx for the advice FeeFee especialy about the glucosamine  , I wasn't aware there were two types . I am going to try glucosamine , codliveroil and a Bioflow collar.
