Hi folks, been directed here to ask about any lurcher breeders local to me (i'm in west lothian/edinburgh but will travel upto 3 hours). I'm looking for either a young rescue lurcher or a pup but have had no luck waiting for a rescue dog yet. I'd really like a hairy one and probably a beardie x greyhound or similar. If anyone hears of any rescues fitting the bill let me know or same goes if you know of any breeders who do this type of cross.

Cheers

Jo

Have a look on Lurcher Link. There are some lovely hairy lurchers on there.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a computer dunce so don't know how to do a link to the site.

I was looking on there last night & there are loads of lovely dogs needing homes :(

Yep you're right! You must be another LL'er?! I do really want a rescue but was also starting to look around to see if there are any breeders with pups. Cant find any suitable hairy lurchers up north. Have spied a girl I am now in love with who is in Norfolk..... :))

OMG just looked at the link for Miley. She is identical to my last lurcher Merlin who I lost in an accident before xmas. I got him at 4years old though so have never seen a puppy pic but thats exactly how he would have looked. Dont think its a good idea to get a dog who is identical in looks even though for me she is the perfect looking dog.

i wondered if you'd seen the gorgeous hairy girlie in Norfolk  Is she just too far for you, or is there a way of bringing you two together?

I've already made enquiries! She has a visitor shortly but if that doesnt work out i'm hoping to take a little trip down south.... Really hadnt planned on going so far but well.... she is gorgeous. Hope she wont be that massive! Greyhound size is fine but she looks like she'll be as big as an irish wolfhound!!

go for it I wish I had room she'd be great with Merlin!!!!!she's nowhere near as big as him,he's 32"tts and I love him, every inch of him!

ring the 'Pets at home' store in Warrington, they had an advert for a 5 month old lurcher for £40, sorry I don't know any further details, it's in the Northwest area, :luck:

Hairy lurcher now found :D

This is Arwen, she's 16weeks old and I got her on Sunday

Oh, Wow! Isn't she beautiful  :huggles:

Do you know anything about her breeding? Best of luck with her :huggles: :luck:

Not sure of her breeding but pretty sure she has some bedlington in her as well as greyhound and perhaps deerhound. Who knows!
