Black greyhounds are the least likely to be re-homed ... Black beauties to go to the Black beauties website ... they are a new grassroots group that need our help rehoming these forgotten dogs.!

Awww Blacks are so lovely why are they over looked??

Thank you Stormy you have opened my eyes to the world of Greyhounds :huggles:

thanks for that comment. im on nightshift so spend loads of time looking at all sorts of sights. this one popped up when i was reading about "the Hawk" so i followed it up. i cant understand why black dogs get the raw deal either. if theyre coats in condition theres nothing better in the doggy world to look at and theyre coat alone tells you about the dogs condition in general..dull coat ..dull dog ?

i was horrified at the pix on the website and i have to admit ruined my night as i kept seeing the images.

yes i know its a business and all that old crap that some trainers love to blah-blah on about but atleast look after your feckin tools when youve finished !

john...with stripes and a black-monkey whos looking in the mirror and asking "whats wrong with us blacks?".

That's sad about the Blacks, :( they are you say a sight to behold when in good condition, and what more rewarding than taking a rescue and transforming it

So true John, so true...

But sadly once they have gone past their sell by date (what is it 3 yrs, if they are lucky) thats it tossed out or worse mutilated, starved and beaten

How can we be so cruel??

I haven't read stormydogs thread because I just can't :(

But on a positive note most of the rehomed/retired greyhounds I've seen in my area are black :D mine is a fawn but we weren't given a choice when we got her good job really as I probably would have chosen a black one :b

OMG I can't believe that, what a horrible thing to say. Some people are so ignorant  I think Gypsy is beautiful  Nothing wrong with black whippets or greyhounds, I really don't understand that at all.

Id love to get a greyhound some day, and I would like a black one as i've read from a few places that they tend to get ignored more :(

Cant believe how many there are...and all lovely

just cant believe why these black dogs dont get a look in...as myself have two blacks and we picked them by their temperment not by their colour...but i do adore blacks and when you see a healthy black dog their coats are the best...glossy and sheen

I think alot of people dont get balcks as some grey alot quicker which makes them look older which is such a shame

i wish i had more room i would have lots of blacks

Blacks are best!!!!!!!

Jinny was my first whippet and I wanted a black - no other colour would do!

Personally I prefer black as a colour in greyhounds too  ..... and horses, and cats and..... ( too much information! (w00t) :b )

I think the next dog I get will be black-at the minute i have two predominatly white ones - the hairs off them are a bloomin' nuisance (w00t)

No, but seriously.....blacks or brindles sound good
