I always borrowing my buddys TOMTOM1 but hes taking it on hols so i thought ill buy one for myself.

Went to Halfords and found a couple i liked which were the TomTom1 was £109 but beside it was Garmins Nuvi200 down from £149 to £89. so i asked the guys there for advice and they both said the Garmin was the better system...so i bought it. ive tried it out and im not so sure. maybe i need to play a bit more with it.

Has anybody else got one of these and what do they think of them ?

Im like Joe90 now walking around the house with it pretending im lost  .....weird thing is ive found a family of Albanians in one of my spare bedrooms......so ive recommended a Satnav to him and showed him how to type in ALBANIA :- "

That's a pretty good price!

Both very good.

Got the Nuvi 250 widescreen, only problem is it's like having your wife in the passenger seat telling you where to go! :teehee: :teehee: :teehee:

we have the Garmins Nuvi200, never had a problem with it

I've got a Garmin! I think its a great system, dead easy to use and perfect for finding things if your in an area you dont know very well, at the click of a button you can find whatever you need.

Only problem i have had is if its out in the sticks often sends me to some farm or house in the middle of nowhere as apposed to the golf club i am looking for lol, so i think you need to have a little bit of common sense to go with it.

thinking about it, this happened to us once...............sent us up a dirt track........got stuck in the mud :- "

oh crap..i dont have too much common sense....i guess i might as well have bought magic beans or a buried treasure map ffsake

j :( hn

 My OH bought one but all he does is argue with the damn thing

My hubby has this one John, through his work....he says its pretty good...

I've got this one, and I think it's really good, apart from the fact that it beeps to let you know where all the speed cameras are, or once were, or areas where mobile ones are often used, and even imaginary speed cameras- it drives me round the twist!!

So I usually use it in mute mode- you can still follow the directions but don't have that woman going on at you all the time!

Yeh I always use a map and have been quite impressed with myself at times... however.. it is very difficult to map read while traveling alone or with a sleeping 14 year old in the passenger seat.. so I am seriously considering getting one of these sat navs.. SD, you've sniffed out another bargain

Glad I'm not the only one to name their satnav!!! :teehee:

Mine is Gabby Garmin (she's a Garmin Nuvi 300 and was a bargain at £92?) She has the most annoying voice but is otherwise very helpful. My biggest bugbear has been the damned mounting bracket, suction cups that don't stick to windscreen etc!!!! Finally cracked it though using the helpful self adhesive disc that sticks to dashboard, only had Gabby a week so we'll see how helpful she is travelling to Uni Open Days with my eldest!

john..reporting in from the outer hebrides......

damn satnav.....

EBAY UK--------SATNAV FOR SALE..USED ONLY ONCE TO GET ME LOST !!
