Poppy's First Walk

Lovely pics, and what a well behaved pup! You have to let me know where you got her harness, it's gorgeous :* and I've not seen a nice soft one like that before.

My pup's due to get her 2nd set of vacinations next week so I need to sort something out for her and a harness like yours would be ideal.

 ooo doesnt she look a right sexy babe in her pink harness :huggles:

Isnt it great to finally get them out and about,.....she seems to be enjoying herself and looks so pretty...

Awww thanks for all the replies, she is absolutely lovely. We are so happy to have her, she brings smiles every day.

Today I let her off the lead! For about 4 minutes when there were no other dogs around and she stayed close sniffing around and then came back when I called! My mum and her dog were there too which made it less scary.

I really think the harness stops her pulling as well which is great!

Many more pics to come I'm sure

Oh, Poppy is soooooo cute  It's really scary the first time you let them off lead isn't it but it sounds like she was a very well behaved wee girl.

It is soooo scary letting her off, I am still too scared to let her off by myself,we have only had her three weeks!

She is mostly well behaved but can be so cheeky at home! And if she is really interested in something she mysteriously goes deaf (w00t)

She is getting faster now,Im gonna try to get some picsof her tmrw

Reddragon, I have pmed you. She rolled around in mud in her harness and got it mucky, good job it goes in the washing machine!

dont know if this is any help, but we too and frod over letting them off heres my thread

http://www.k9community.co.uk/forums/index....topic=48407&hl=

theres 2 so it was scary to think what if im on my own and one runs one way and the other goes the other way what do i do????? :sweating:

but after taking them out a few times with my OH and having to picked a pup each so we would know who we was running after. i quickly relised that they wernt going to go running of never to be seen again.

like a few people said on my thread they feel safe with you and thats where they will stay :huggles:

its changed a bit now, they are so brave and fearless that they will hapily run off with another dog or jogger lol so that where its a constant battle to knock the whippet ears of them so they might listen and come back lol.

you need to do what you feels right for you though. so if your not happy and confident about it then just keep her on the lead just now good luck, more pic please :huggles: :huggles:

Thanks for that link Katie, remember your thread now!

Today Poppy ran off following another dog and becasue there were lots of people (think there was a big picnic or soemthing) she got all confused and couldnt see or hear us.The man with the other dog just waited up ahead til I went and got Poppy but for a couple of minutes when I couldnt see her and she wasnt coming when I called it felt awful. I nearly paniced but mymum was with me so she helped me out! I know she will run off and I wont be able to see her sometimes but she is still just a baby and it was scary! Usually such a quiet place as well!

More pics soon i promise!

Hi - the harness looks just the ticket, nice and broad - where did you get it from? Our puppy is 12 weeks old and we've just started taking her for walks, but she pulls with so much pressure and we are only using just a wide collar. Getting her to stop pulling would obviously be ideal but in the meantime we need to get some walks in.
