See pic of my grandfather's lurcher(greyhound x whippet) from over 50 years ago. In those days the dog helped feed the family, not the other way around. The dog was sent to him as a puppy in a brown box, from up north on a train.

The stories he told when I was a child about this dog made me want to keep lurchers. He was a dog man all his life, but this guy was head and shoulders above the rest.

Thought you may find it interesting.

Thats OK Im glad you liked it, I love old pics, I was a bit worried you might think I was being a bit cheeky :)

Ilove old pictures and as a owner/breeder of lurchers for 25 years favour the old fashion lurcher i now people will say there is always room for improvement i believe if it aint broke dont fix it. i myself recently bought an old fashiontype lurcher to continue my interest in the breed Thanks for showing the pics.

Thanks for your comments, The 2 people who said they love old pic, woulds love to do what I have to do, I got like 200-300 old pics I have to take photo's of and put onto one of them digital photo frames for my mum's Xmas gift.

One last pic of that dog, maybe at an older age as he seems a bit bigger built.
