I don't often post on here, so I hope you don't think I'm been cheeky for doing this. I also thought this was the best section to get a response.

Has anyone got any rabbit that I could buy (at a reasonable price). My usual supplier can't get me any until the new year and I'm desperate, I usually pay £1.99 per rabbit. I live in Leeds and I'm willing to trave a reasonable distance to pick them up.

My reason for asking is, one of my lurchers is allergic to every source of protein you can think of, all cereals and most fruits and veggies and the only thing she can eat without reacting is rabbit.

Hiya Hellybobs

Can youre dog eat the frozen rabbit meat from pets at home, I dont think its that much more expensive? - just till you can get some? I will go up to a butcher near me and see if he has any and I will post when I get back  Im in Bradford by the way :)

The rabbit at PAH has chicken mixed in with it and she can't have chicken but thanks anyway.

Possibly so but after being a member of this forum for quite a while I realised that unless your part of a particular group or clique then your pretty much ignored, argued with or slagged off for having an opinion that differs from the masses. I was just hoping that someone just might be able to help and I was wrong.

Thats a very sad opinion...the area in which you posted is one of the less busy areas, and as I'm not in your geographical area, wouldn't be able to help if I could

Mmmm strange way to look at things..............but

each to your own. I always assume whne i don't

get replies that people cant help not that they won't ;)

Bound to be someone in youre area who lamps or ferrets.Dont you work youre dogs then,as a lurcher can keep itself, and a whole kennel in rabbits if its good enough.Dont mean this to be cheaky, but being from N Ireland, all lurchers i know off, work,to some extent. My own only get a wee bit of ferreting, and the odd night out with the lamp. But then thats only cause there aint been any great lamping weather so far this winter, and the fields are a wreck with water, one minute, and hard as steel with ice,the other.Minus 6,n1/2 degrees when i was out feeding at 8 oclock tonight.Even colder now.Anyhow.Hope you get a few bunnies, and i would stock up for that rainey day from now on. ...Billy...

There's an online catalogue for wild and farmed rabbit, whole and minced, here. They're in Lincs but supply the whole UK and deliver next day via Fedex. Not the cheapest but will keep you going until after New Year.

If you came on with that attitude, then its not surprising you don't get much help. Were you expecting everyone who doesn't feed rabbit, or catch rabbits to reply and say sorry I can't help? I would say that probably 90% or more of K9ers can't help you - just because people haven't replied, doesn't mean they wouldn't help you if they could. Your comments weren't the best way to enlist help. Hope you have found some now.

Thanks for posting this link Annie. I didn't know that rabbit could be bought over the net like that.
