My 6 year old daughter and i decided it was a lovely day to take Misty for a run on the beach :) .

So off we went, Misty was excited as she loves a run around and a play with the other dogs, :)) we were all happy, the sun was shining, the weather was warm.

After our play we started to head back and came across another couple of dogs with their owners, a scottie dog started to chase Misty and wouldn't let up  So I picked Misty up, the dog then started jumping up at me! so I had to put Misty down again.....all this time the owners were trying to catch the dog but it was out of control. Then the little sod bit Misty on her back thigh, and ripped her leg  i was not happy....the owners still trying to catch the bloody dog.

They said '....oh really sorry, send me the vet bill, he does tend to nip' (this was more than a nip) It cost me £80.00, and distressed Misty as she hates the vets.

The vet wasn't impressed and said the other dog should have been muzzled.

It's really got me angry  , now i feel nervous of letting Misty off the lead on the beach as obviously not all dog owners are responsible.....what other mental dogs am i going to come across?

Awww I am sorry, hope Misty is OK now? She will get over it.

This happened to Izzy with a GSD, she is slightly more wary of all dogs now, but not too nervy. She does however know GSD's and is really scared and screams if they start to try to play or chase her.

Don't let other idiots put you off going to the beach

So sorry to hear this :( what a traumatic time for you all :(

I do hope Misty recovers well and shows no signs of fear from other dogs in the future :huggles:

hope your girly gets well soon :luck:

i've been lucky, most dogs, well actually all we've met who take after Eskil, have not been able to catch him. though after hearing all these disstressing stories about dogs being hurt, i would not hesitate to put a dog in his place if he were to hurt my boy.

Sorry to read about this :( Hope Misty recovers well :huggles:

(This happened to one of my whippies at 12 weeks old on his first walk on the beach It cost me at the vets to But he came through it okay )

poor Misty, how awful. Hope she makes a good recovery without emotional scars.

Those owners should have their dog muzzled if they know it bites, makes your blood boil doesn't it !

Hope you aren't too nervous next time on the beach.

This strikes a chord with myself.

Eric got bitten just over a week ago and needed 2 staples in his shoulder because of the bite! Stupid woman had 5 dogs off lead and one of them muzzled,The dog that bit Eric was'nt and she had no control over them all.It just ran over to him and bit him!

It cost £50 for a trip to the vet and Eric was a bit wary afterwards but seems to be ok now.

There are a lot of numpty dog owners out there but Thankfully more good owners than bad.

So sorry to hear about Misty :( Hope she gets over her ordeal.
