Anybody think that there isn't a Dam to Alex's children........ Whatabout the Skyeway dam line & the english import aren't they worth a mention!!!!!!!

:b

Also congratulations to all winners and placegetters in Sydney
Meeooowww ..................Who the &^% is Skip?????

OK then, congratulations to my Genevieve who is Claudia's dam :-

Apparently when I was little I chased "skip the roo" all through "koala park" in NSW in my fluffy pink jump suit. My dad dragged me out from under a fallen tree branch with leafs, dirt, crud and kanga poo on me...Don't remember it of course.

The older brother was my first crush. Him and the lead singer of the "bay city rollers"

I've been a bit slack lately not putting up any results, let alone full results, because as I alluded to in another thread a while ago I've had a very bad time of late. And it's NOT because I've been beaten at shows - as I've heard somebody said was the case. When you've suffered the deaths of your brother-in-law, your Multi BIS winning bitch at only age 5, a puppy three days before it was supposed to arrive and the loss of your job in the space of two months, being beaten at a dog show is not even a blip on your radar. I didn't mention these things on k9 at the time because I wanted to deal with my grief alone and didn't want to come on k9 everyday to read messages of condolences that I felt would only add to my grief. So please don't send me heaps of those now and please don't ask me to say what happened in each case as I'm through the worst of it now and don't really want to talk about any of it, that's just how I am. I know most of you would feel for me.

BUT I did want to set the record straight (in case that rumour is getting around) because when I say I'm having a bad time, I am having a bad time, I'm not just being beaten at a show!

Win or lose, shows are my release - they keep my head above water, so to speak.

Anyhow - some little brags for my dogs from months gone past...

Gr Ch Aslan That's Amore was BIG at Gladstone in January under Mr RF Marshall.

He was also BIG at Gladstone last month under Mr John Thompson (President of the Whippet Assoc. Victoria)

Ch Phoenway Blue Anjill was BIG at Moranbah KC under Mrs V Spence (Q)

Little Darcie (Ozrhode Celtic Sands) has had 7 out of 9 Baby in Groups and one BAby in Show.

Thanks for the results Lee-anne. I must have been typing while you were posting.

Congrats to all.

WOW Skippy  - think you need to come out of the bush & get some anger management councilling :b Didn't realise that Alex had wives in the mix of the creation of his offspring puppies  He is a very clever boy a bit like his mummy who's kids are most often referred to as Lulu children (w00t)

Grow up! And at least if you are going to be so angus then at least make yourself known who you are instead of hiding behind an anonymous name. <_<

Congratulations to the mothers of Alex's kids who have had a fun time in the ring recently:

Sage's mother (sorry, not sure of her pet name - maybe Skippy could help us out with this seeing is this person knows the breeding behind her 8) )

Geneieve - Claudia's mother

Holly - Ashley, Ashton & Alice's mother

Myah - Tagman's mother

Great to see you back Lana ;) And congrat's on your wins

Huge congrat's to all at Sydney - sounds like a fun few shows :)

I hear from the Kiwi contingent that the judging at the royal yesterday was pretty fast? Had a report back that there were 75 dogs judged in an hour??? Not sure if this is right - but I do know the 3 kiwi's missed the whippet judging as they were on a lot earlier than anticipated :( Having said that... I do believe there were many jugs of margarita's :x comsumed the night before (w00t) Maybe they thought they were still on Kiwi time & turned their clocks back another couple of hours - now that would work (w00t) (w00t)

Sitting here, a little brain dead, after 6 days of showing. This Sydney week is a killer for any of us with multiple breeds.

To give you some idea of my quiet life, I showed Salukis Thursday 9th and won Bitch CC RUBOB with Hilary's Dot and Res Dog with Nash. Can't tell you how many laps I did but it seemed to go on forever. (My girl is in the whelping box with a litter so each day I rush home, shower and then change bedding and spend time with the pups.) We went to a dinner Thursday night we had committed to so got home late. Luckily Anne Marie had arrived safely from South Aus and was tucked up in bed asleep.

Friday was Whippet Show at Castle Hill. Up early to wash Anne Marie's dogs. In my confusion and rush, I left the ribbons at home. Got to the show and John started the show and then drove home (just over an hour each way) and came back with the wrong box! Hilary (our Saluki friend) then went to my house and arrived at the show in time with the right box of ribbons. That night John cooked up a piece of fillet beef to Anne-Marie's husband's recipe. I was pottering around happily until the brandy they poured over the beef was lit and the flames lit up the kitchen! But, I have to say, the end result was fabulous.

Saturday we once again went to Castle Hill for the Sighthound Show after a quick stop off at Officeworks to print more catalogues for the Whippet Show. We had sold so many on the Friday, I'd run out. We set up and I went to the trailer to get the dogs, opened the door and no Clover or Blue!!!! I thought John had put them in and he thought I had put them in. By now, John wasn't talking to me as he drove off for the trip home. He got back in time with the girls and told me the trip had better be worth it! Saturday night dinner at our Border Collie friend/neighbours place. Luckily we didn't have far to walk home.

Sunday another day at Castle Hill for the Whippet Show - or at least I think it was a specialty show. I found the judge extremely quick and appeared disinterested so it didn't feel like a specialty. But at least we were home early as we had organised a spit roast at our place with friends who were looking forward to catching up with Anne Marie. I gave up at 10:30 and said goodnight to my guests and went to bed.

Monday, off to the Royal again to show the Border Terriers we co-own. Another looooong day.

Tuesday at home - well, that the intent but Sharon and I went shopping which is marvellous therapy and pick me up and then in the afternoon we washed, dried and groomed the Border Collies.

Wednesday, Border Collies at the Royal. Felt a pang down the back of my ankle and into my heel so was a bit worried that my achilles tendon wasn't happy. Came home to wash 6 dogs for the Royal the next day.

Thursday, RR's and Whippets at the Royal. Showed 7 dogs and my ankle held up but it's not feeling great today.

Yes, the Royal judge was quick which I knew as he judged 72 Weimaraners in 1 hour. He did 160 dogs in 2½ hours yesterday. He doesn't touch the dogs a lot and makes his mind up quickly - I think on the first run around. The Swedish judge is also quick. Of the three, the Finnish lady is the slowest. However, all three appear interested and smile which is more than I can say for our judge on Sunday.

Today, I've swept the floor, put on some washing and now will pack a bag as I'm off judging in Tasmania over the weekend. I'm leaving John to take the RR's to Newcastle to show at the specialty tomorrow and then Sunday he has to take my RR and Whippet puppy into the Royal. I'm sorry that I didn't realise the appointment clashed with Sydney Royal Gen Specials.

The NZ girls missed judging yesterday. Think they had a good time. I'll dob them in and let you know they had a very late night - oops morning on Thursday.

And I will brag about my babies. They consistently won their classes over the shows. Dante, our boy, has been doing so well, it's scary. We're thrilled with all the lovely comments we are receiving about him. His sisters, Star (fawn), Mandy (brindle and white) and Rosie (solid brindle) have also done well. This weekend was Star's big debut and although not really ring savvy (she lives with Margot who has never shown), she won her classes at all 4 shows. Mandy won the 3 she was entered in and Rose came behind Mandy. It was a super once in a lifetime litter.

I think I need another cup of tea and a very hot shower to feel more alive.

Cheers

fastest judging ever!!! He was assessing the front of cooper while I was still staking the back!! I think he judged 40 odd gsp's in a half hour and had finished his first breed before the other ring had finished junior dog!!

We have had a disaster of a trip accompdation wise but it was great to see the Sydney dogs and meet thier owners and the kiwis as well!!

Hey there Toni... congrat's with your wins with the puppies  Thanks also for the report on your week of Sydney, SERIOUSLY... that John is a good boy driving to & fro... that is a fab commitment o:) I can just imagine opening the trailer & finding a couple of the team missing  I'd have spun at 90 (w00t)

Yes, I assumed those naughty kiwi girls had a bit of a late night considering the answers to some of the texts I had sent to them  That should be about a years worth of ribbing I'm sure, seeing as the main reason for their road trip was the Sydney Royal :p

You been camping again Elly???? Your kids did well too

Congratulations Lynda, what an awesome weekend for Shenace, and especially all Alex's children.

Hi Lynda, What do you mean about "if you are going to be so angus"!!? Hope that is not referring to us in anyway???? Doesn't sound too good if it is?

Congrats to all winners in all shows around Oz!
