Wcra Reps Meeting Venue Change

Its about time you ALL took on board the truth .. lets hope you can ALL read and understand the TRUTH ..... but lets see hey !!!! ....
I really do not understand what is all this about; there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING strange about blue dog mated to fawn bitch producing brindle pups. The blue (which is just a diluted black) is dominant to all other colours, so he can carry brindle. Plus the fact that the litter was DNA test confirmed the paternity.

I do not know any of the dogs and people involved, so I do not have any interest one way or other, but from the info provided there is absolutely NO grounds for doubting the paternity of these pups.

You are right.................you know nothing about the meeting/background/circumstances.......and your sport is NOT affected by any of it.!!!

Whats the weather like where you live ?

With all respect Seraphina, you have been misinformed. The blue dog did not carry any brindle as he had a blue and a fawn parent. That is by the by, as there is much more to this than you could possibly have been told. Information is fine, if it is true information ;)

Edited to say that you have to ask yourself why 11 out of 13 racing clubs want these dogs banned - its not that there are a few nasty people who don't like fast dogs as some would have you believe. We are striving to keep pedigree whippets - nothing more.

Just so that people know - the vote to suspend the passports of these dogs is advisory only.

The WCRA will discuss the matter at their next committee meeting and take the vote into consideration.

And to second Junes comment - a big well done to Mark Etheridge, he did a great job in difficult circumstances.

I thought he was excellent Ian, as was Betty Beaumont - she was fab. Also Judy Booker and Geoff Cook spoke well too. We owe them bigtime!

so does this mean the WCRA can ignore us and decide what "they" want to do behind closed doors again??

if this is the case its such a shame not only for pedigree racing, but all the racers that gave their whole day yesterday for the meeting :(

but all we can all do is continue to wait, in the good faith that the right thing will be done for the good of pedigree whippet racing and that many lessons will have been learnt.

I haven`t heard the other side of what went on yesterday so I can`t comment on that.

There`s nothing on the Whippet Forum or the Whippet club site yet.

Perhaps the moderators on K9 could provide us with what was decided by the WRCA committee?

We had a lovely suuny day`s trialling yesterday and dear old Alf put in an appearance.

Well yes it does Julie, but if the WCRA wants to survive, it HAS to listen to the racers and the affiliated clubs, and I'm sure they know that. If the Whippet Club overturns any decision they make, then they have two options, sink or split from the Whippet Club, who after all know nothing of racing as they are all show people. Some say they used to race, but they are talking about the 70's, 30-40 years ago, and whippet racing and dogs have moved on a long way since then. Whippet racing should be run by racing people, not a committee of people who stick their heads in the sand, and ignore the facts put before them

it was good to see we was well supported yesterday at the meeting, but these people that didnt turn up who were against the dogs want to realise that we need all the support we can get and that if it had been an open 150 miles away they would of made sure that they had got to that so next time there is another meeting if your against these dogs running then you need to come along and give your support because there is a long way to go yet.

if it me your having a pop at, then i had my own reasons for not being able to attend the meeting, not that any of that is anything to do with you, i have worked my socks off over the last 8/9 months over this situation and have done all i can in support of my fellow racers..

i also have a 5 year old daughter who could not be expected to sit in a 5 hour meeting, and as im on my own with my daughter i am unable to leave her with anyone so hardly right she should attend with me...... in fact i dont even know who you are...so picking fights between the racers who all want the same thing is pointless..

my club reps and other club members who could attend all went with the same feelings as me so as i have said before i feel i was fully represented in my absence.

WHOAAAA where does it say your name or your daughter's name in my thread, im not having a pop at anyone in specific and im certainly not interested in your business nomore then you would be in mine i was talking in general as on this matter i do feel strongly that we need as many people as we can at the meetings because if this had been just down to club reps it would of never gone to vote anyway because there would not have been a big enough majority why do people always think that people are trying to have a pop at them we are just tryin to put our views over like all the others, we were not the only ones at the meeting that thought more should of attended and said exactly the same thing as i did if it had been an open race meeting more would of gone

im sure everyone who could attend did, and i know like myself many others would of liked to go but for differnt reasons couldnt....

WE ALL feel very strongly about this sorry state, and we all will do anything we can to help get a resolve ;)

I'll also third June's comment. Mark Etheridge proved himself to be a very good chairman of a very tricky meeting. I thought that he was a very clever and charming chairman. Mark I believe that you could sell snow to Eskimo's. ;)

To be fair, I don't think many people thought we would get a vote - if they had I'm sure many more would have gone. It costs a lot of money to travel nowadays, and although you would wish that as many people as possible attend, its not always possible for everyone. Most of us thought that we were going to be there to be told by the WCRA that their decision had been made, and how they came to that decision. I was pleased we were allowed a vote. Some people have to pick and choose where they go and what they can realistically afford. A trip to this meeting might have meant one open less affordable to travel to.

Although you weren't aiming this at Julie, it does seem quite harsh on anyone who is looking in and would like to have been with us but couldn't. We need to be sticking together on this one, and Julie has done a lot of work early on, and is behind us racers 100%. In the end, we all have the same aim, to race pedigree whippets on a fair and level playing field. Lets stay on the same path, and fight this one together  We are doing OK so far! :D

I second that June... The only reason we didnt go was because we believed we wouldnt actually be able to speak, we thought it was down to the clup rep to speak on our behalf.... Has there been an individual vote??? If this was the case we would have attended!!??
