With 15 ferret kits on my hands,Decided to go out and get some rabbit for them. They have ate 29 in the last 6 weeks. My nephew is lamping mad and on school holidays at the moment. We went over to some ground in Portreath at 10:30, Where the grass/ground was workable. Moon was half-up, Had about 15 runs and a chat with the farmer and left for home about midnight. A good start to getting the dog fit this seasons work. Some pics not the greatest.

A good start to the season.
I wasn't aware the season the season had started yet ;)

I thought it started in September????
It does around here, I also go out for the occasional lamp around on the grass paddocks to get a bit of ferret meat. Although i don't post pics of them as most are half grown and no test at all for a fit dog.

I start seriously in the second week of september when the fields are all cut and the rabbits are a nice size. Plus the nights are a little cooler better for running the dogs.

No 1/2 growns in there.Being a Part-time gamekeeper must be a good way to see the size of rabbits in your area. Sometimes have to do abit to show your permission owner your keen. Working 60 hours aweek at moment and have a new born, Have to get out when you can.

If you read my post i was saying i don't post lamping pics through the summer as most of the rabbits I catch are half grown rabbits. Wasn't implying your rabbits were just half grown...

As i've mentioned i go out throughout the summer keeping the numbers down.
