A couple of months ago.I was down at Derry greyhound track. There was a wee bitch there, who caught my eye.For her looks alone,i might add.Just mentioned off hand. That if she didnt make the grade,i would give her a home.Next week we were back, and i was approached to see if i was stil interedted in the bitch,as she wasnt going nowhere fast so to speak, and as the owner was a gambler,he had no room for anything that couldnt run out of youre way.Id noticed her in trials, being led, from traps, amd well beated each time.Which wasnt doing much for her comfidence. We started trialing her after a settling in time of about a month. We put her round with the whippet x greyhounds, which would hold her till the bends, where she would then leave them, and for the 1st time have the knowledge etched in her head, that she could not only go by other dogs. But leave them by quite a bit.Once they hit the bend.It taught her to race a bend, and not just sit tucked in behind summit else. Then we qualified her,and after a few eeks entered her for her 1st race under us,as trainers.Seems the comfidence boost we gave her,has worked.Cause she broke in 3rd place. Was in front at the bend, and must have thought it was the lurchers behind her,as she kept on going,to claim her 1st ever victory. So a failure, turned victorious, all because of a little comfidence boost. There were a few long faces in the stands.Who were slightly shell shocked, lol. This is she.
