Couldn't of been that bad surely? As I have learnt, just take a breather, remember it's a amateur sport, and we all get a bit over excited, I have, but please, what an earth happened?

i wish someone wud tell us and also give us results im going out soon ;)
 
Personally i think if things are wrong ie scales ect at opens the points for top 10 should be nule ...reason been if scales are weighing heavy and you keep your dogs on 1/4 lb ..then they will be weighed out and in 2lb weigh classes this is going to make a diffrents to which class your dog will run in ... if like bramble she sits on 20lb 9 oz it wouldnt make any diffents

Shame these things happen it always puts a dampener on the days racing
 
so sorry cara never got a run for what ever reason, such a long drive for nothing :( who else went from the north

scales should be right if you weigh youre dog 23 than give a oz you should be right if youre 4oz out bollockks why weigh i no my dogs weight to the oz
 
T DIDNT WANT TO COMMENT ON THIS SUBJECT BECAUSE I WANTED TO LET THINGS SETTLE DOWN AND IM STILL UPSET I REALLY DONT NEED THE STRESS.AS EVERYBODY WHO KNOWS ME I CONSIDER MYSELF A FAIR AND SPORTING MAN AND HAVE OVER THE YEARS GOT USED TO BEING BEATEN.I BOOKED THE DOGS IN UNABLE TO HELP IN ANY OTHER WAY.IT SOON BECAME APPARENT THAT THE SCALES WERE WEIGHING AT LEAST 3OUNCES HEAVY EXPERIENCED RACERS LIKE BERT MADGEWICK ,JIMMY WITH INSHALLAH .BILL WITH BAGHEERA WERE ASKED TO COME BACK AND REWEGH,ON BEING CHECKED WITH ANOTHER SET OF SCALES IT WAS VERIFIED THAT THE SCALES WERE HEAVY BUT BY THIS TIME SOME 20 DOGS HAD WEIGHED IN.IT WAS DECIDED BY THE POWERS THAT BE THAT THE DOGS WOULD BE WEGHED ON THE ORIGINAL SCALES.ALL THAT WAS NEEDED WAS A BIT OF COMMONSENSE AND A BIT OF LEEWAY GIVEN,IT WAS SAID THAT THE SCALES WHERE THE SAME FOR EVERYBODY BUT IT OBVIOSLY WASNT.DAVE WHO WAS WEIGHING IN JUST GAVE THE WEIGHTS WHAT THE SCALES SAID IN FAIRNESS HIS OWN DOG HAD TO GO UP A 1LB AND RUN IN A HEAVIER CLASS.WHAT REALLY UPSET ME WAS THE ATTITUDE OF SOME PEOPLE WHO REALLY DIDNT WANT TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.I REALLY FELT SORRY FOR MARK AND MOCHARA AND I WAS REALLY LOOKIG FORWARD TO RACING HER WITH OUR SOUTHERN TOUCH.I THINK ITS REALLY WRONG THAT PEOPLE ARE MAKING THIS A NORTH V SOUTH THING ITS NOTHING OF THE SORT.IN MY OPINION OUR CLUB MADE A BIG MISTAKE BUT OTHER PEOPLE ON THE COMMITEE OBVIOUSLY DONT AGREE WITH ME AND THATS THERE PEROGOTIVE,

SORRY DEBBIE THE BOOKIE HAD MY PROGRAMME AND BELIEVE ME HE HAD THE WORST DAY OF ANYBODY EVERY VFAVOURITE WON AND THE BURGLARS WHERE OUT IN FORCE
 
On a lighter note, I had 4 good bets with the bookie and 3 of them clocked in :D and took a £10 off Lyndon on the supreme scratch race :lol:

Glad, the situation has been explained, seems like a lot of hassle for all concerned. At the end of the day no one was cheating, and I'm sure no advantage was gained...

I wish I could still race myself, it's still a great day out, other than weather today :D

JUST TO CLARIFY THE SITUATION AS CHAIRPERSON OF THURROCK CLUB THE SAME SET OF SCALES WAS USED TO WEIGH IN ALL WHIPPETS, THESE SCALES ARE THE SCALES USED AT ALL CLUB MEETINGS AND ARE LESS THAT 1 YEAR OLD.

I DO UNDERSTAND THAT MARK HAD TRAVELLED A LONG WAY TO ATTEND THIS MEETING BUT WE COULD NOT CHANGE THE SCALES FOR JUST ONE DOG ,WE DID ALLOW MARK TO RETURN TO THE SCALES SEVERAL TIMES AND UNDERSTAND HIS PROBLEMS WITH TRAFFIC.

THERE WAS NOT ANY MALICE IN THIS DISCISSION AND IT IS NOT A NORTH AND SOUTH ISSUE, IF THIS COMMENT WAS MADE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A THROW AWAY COMMENT MADE IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT.

WE TRIED TO BE HONEST AND FAIR EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS UPSET EVEN MEMEBERS OF OUR OWN CLUB

WE STAND BY OUR FOUNDER'S COMMENTS THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE WELCOME AT THURROCK CLUB AND OPENS AND WE WILL ALWAYS ENDEAVOUR TO BE FAIR AND HONEST.

BUT IF MEMBERS DO NOT AGREE WITH DICISSIONS MADE THESE SHOULD BE AIRED AT OUR AGM. BUT LIKE EVERYONE THEY ARE FREE TO RACE. WHERE THEY WISH.

THIS HAS LEFT BAD TASTE FOR EVERYONE AND MARRED AN OPEN THAT THURROCK HAS PLANNED AND SUPPORTED FINANCALLY.
