It is with great sadness that I have to report that Dido died at the weekend in a tragic accident.

She was a fantastic dog, loved by her owner Peter and family, and many members of the club. She was such a character, who lived an amazing life at the farm, she had free run of the whole farm, and would perfectly time visits to workers at their lunch breaks to share their sandwiches, she would go to the power station to 'sit' on guard with the security guards on shift, always come and say hi when we were grass cutting, and would very patiently sit in front of the burger van on a sunday till she got a burger ! And she loved her runs up the track.

She was beautiful, graceful, intelligent, loyal and affectionate - a very special dog. She will be missed by all

Run free Dido

So Sorry to read this sad news Peter, young Duncs must be devestated mate.! The burger van will never be the same without Dido lookin up at us eating our burgers.! RIP Girl.! :(

Caledonian Thistle Pedigree Whippet Racing Club members, including myself will sorely miss Dido the farm Lurcher, she was notably very intelligent & loved to race on the track and to walk among her whippet friends, I always kepts some treats in my pocket for her. It is a splendid conclusion to the end of Dido's life, that she be buried at a spot near the track finishing line. A beautiful Lurcher and she would have been "a heartbeat, at her owner's side". A very sad loss.

Susan here,,John gave me his password.

We are all so shocked to hear of Dido's death

She was a dog in a million,,a super pet to Duncan,,and Peter,,,the club wont be the same without her.

My 2 kids took her death badly,,as they wanted to bring her home after every club meeting,,I liked her too,,a very soft spot for her.

We as a family will visit the farm over the holiday and will place a treat at where she was layed to rest.

God bless you Dido,,our wee pal,,a total nut case,,who hated rats,,,chase them in heaven girl xxx

I spoke to June Simmons last night and she wanted to send her condolences to Peter and family, she has known Dido since she was a young dog and was very sad to hear the news, echoing peoples thoughts with Dido being a one in a million girl

So sorry the sad news.
