    Cutting down food/increasing treats

Thanks for your reply. I have absolutely no idea how many calories are in the treats I'm using. For today's sessions I've been cutting them into thirds, so they are minute. I may look into some low calorie dog treats though, definitely don't want the little man getting fat! :)

Potential dog owner... general advice and breed advice welco

Have you considered a shih tzu? Not everyone's cup of tea, but I think they're adorable! They were also bred as companion dogs, very people friendly and a low energy breed :)

    Dog and puppy

I think this behaviour is completely natural. Altogether in my family, we have four dogs, who never, ever have bones around each other or eat together. My dog in particular is terrible for resource guarding (can be anything from his food, a bone or even a stick he's found in the garden,) and...

    What is your hobby?

    Cutting down food/increasing treats

I have a 2 year old jrt x bichon. I've always fed him one tin of dog food a day (i've been advised that i should mix dry food in with it, but he simply licks around the biscuits so i don't bother anymore.) he's always been 5kg which the vet says is a great weight. However, we've just started...

    Urinating at night time

I have a two year old jrt x bichon, who - i must add - was an absolute nightmare to house train. He has always slept in a crate (he used to love it, he now hates it) but for the past few months he has been weeing in it! Very unusual behaviour. He is let out for a wee just before I go to bed...

    Newbie needing help!

I experience this problem with my dog. He suffers separation anxiety, but fortunately he only barks for the first 10/15 minutes after I leave rather than the whole time. I'm no expert, but I would try leaving her with a puzzle ball filled with tasty treats to keep her occupied. Also reinforcing...
