I have 2 half brothers ...4 months apart ...we have Never had trouble with them ....they keep each other company and still focus on us ...have excellent recall and are very sociable with people and other dogs...they are both still entire ..(they are too young to be neutered yet 22 mths and 18...
Our 2 have a raw diet ...durhams raw gave them constant diarrhoea so I changed to nature's menu free flow and their complete nuggets and no more squirts
Mine have one bonio each in the evening with no bad effects ...hope you find something that works for your girl;)
I think we are all...
Have you seen the new dog Teddys for pups ...I think they are JML but you can buy them in asda Robert dyas...you warm it in the microwave and it simulates a heartbeat...I wonder if this would settle your boy ....
Please don't think it's bad behaviour its perfectly normal puppy behaviour ...you can give him time out but please dont isolate him ...he is only a baby still even though he looks older because he is a giant breed .....these early weeks are so crucial to how he develops as an adult...
Don't forget he is just a baby ...
Exercise and freedom is essential for puppies and dogs ...its taking away both that causes problems....or limiting them ....have you spoken to the breeder for advice ...
I dont actually like rope toys for larger dogs ..it can make them rag things and make them hyper .....I would stick to puppy nylabones and kongs ...I also never give squeaky toys either ...cardboard boxes are good too with food hidden...I have always been lucky that we have always had a dog with...
I encourage all of our pups to bite ...bite on toys ...kongs filled with tasty treats ...nylabone ...teaching bite inhibition is invaluable especially larger dogs...my deerhound boys can nibble my fingernails without trimming them at all ....hopefully your boy has settled a little....:p
We have 2 large breeds deerhounds...the breeder gave them beta large breed puppy ..we changed to natures menu raw ...we also gave them powdered ewes milk what the farmers give orphaned lambs ...twice daily for their bone growth ...your boy is going to be a big lad .homemade treats would be much...
When I think back about our sid ...he was 12 weeks when we got him ...from working parents Jack Russell terrier...he had the best raw food ....exercise every day twice a day ..had the best vet care ...only had wormer twice yearly ...had his vaccination and one booster and then was titre tested...
