Does your dog(s) nudge you each time you're busy doing something?

Folly tends to look at me then do a soft 'Roo roo' sort of noise. Just sounds like she is trying to talk to me. And of course I can not ignore her.

    The Dog Cafe

I always have talked to my dogs. At night I read a chapter of a book, Folly has got under the duvet with her head sticking out. I put the book down and settle, I then turn to her stroke her and talk about either the day we have had or the day to come. During this she looks at me as though she...

Folly thinks she should always keep her paws dry, if she comes across a puddle she either jumps over it or feels her way round it.

    Keith Sherwin

We got a bike trailer and attached it to my friends mobility scooter so she could take her dogs out. I would guess it would be possible to do the same with a trike.

    Crufts

As to gundogs being overweight, after seeing them quite a bit at shows I was amazed the first time we saw Labs in Scotland that where genuine working dogs. The difference made them look brilliant, slim and well muscled.

    Crufts and the "Coronavirus"

I am going, my friend and I are staying two nights, attending one day, I lost and we are going on Utility day not Hound day. I can't understand the worry this year compared to other years, after all Flu is common each winter and has a higher death rate than this Coronavirus.

We went to see cavapoo puppies locally. Am i doing something wrong?

Rinkydinkydo, yes cross breeds can be registered but only on the activates register and its each individual dog that's registered not a litter.

    Swollen toe

JudyN, a friend who believes in Homeopathy tells me that Homeopathic Silica given oral to dogs causes the dogs body to expel any foreign body in it. Now being of scientific training and experience I tend to not use Homeopathy but it wouldn't do any harm, (I tend to think it wont do anything but...

Just adopted an adorable puppy, but...

Just a comment re microchipping, a friend is making arrangements to take his dog touring so is getting a pet passport for him. However, although both him and the vet know it had been chipped it could not be found and so it needs to be re chipped. I realise its rare but it is possible the dog had...

Very proud of Folly my Whippet

One of my grandsons is Autistic, lately he has been having a 'melt down' refusing to go out and not talking to the few people he allows to visit him. I was in the area, (I live 5 hours away), so I called in with Folly. Now they have met before and Folly likes him, and indeed he likes Folly...

    The Dog Cafe

My Folly doesn't really play and never has done. She has a number of 'toys' but all she does is either choose one to take to bed where she settles down with it in her mouth, not chewing it just holding it. Or she picks one up and charges around with it in her mouth. Balls she has no interest in...

    who would win the race?

Mitchell Perry, as I said earlier it depends on how far. Salukis though not having as high a top speed as Greyhounds do they can run a lot further. Just as in humans Usain Bolt racing Mo Farrar would easily win over a short distance but Mo would win over a long one.

What I cant understand is 'normal' food places have vegetarian dishes to cater for their clients, so why do vegetarian places not have a meat option to cater for those that want it.

Why did you choose that sort of dog?

Mitchell Perry, after having a number of Border Collies I would say that the same dog can be either one of the best or one of the worst dogs as a pet depending on the people. In my opinion if they have 'work' to do and are trained as the sensitive creatures they are then they make wonderful pet...

    Dremmel

Obviously it cant help you but the breeder I got Folly off actually used a Dremmel on the pups before they left her, only just touching the nails for a sec not really to trim them but getting the pups used to the noise and being touched. She also told me to carry on at home. So when the nails...

Why did you choose that sort of dog?

I had a Shih Tzu, he was a re home but fitted in very well. He developed a cancer of a nerve sheath, (it had a long name that I cant remember), it started by affecting his front right leg initially only slightly but it got worse until he couldn't use that leg at all. I was never sure if he...

Why did you choose that sort of dog?

Finsky, I would love more, but I don't think it would be right for the dog(s). Whippets tend to be a healthy long lived breed and if I got a pup now, and I would love a race breed pup, if it got to say 15 I would be 90. Now I may be around and I may be able to care for it but I feel it would be...

Why did you choose that sort of dog?

Finsky, I guess yes we are addicted but I for one am not complaining. After I lost my wife a friend that says she is Psyschic told me that Gypsy would be with me as long as I needed her, I said don't be silly that would put her over 18. She said you wait and see. Now I was, (and still am), very...

    Magazine article about working Lakelands

Frinsky, we get the odd one watching but not many, apart from when we run an open when their is quite a lot of cars / vans on the field and people tend to notice somethings happening and come to watch, and everyone is impressed both by the dogs running and their general quite nature when not.
