Staggered at the price of a pup

I reserved my dog before it was born without knowing the price. When i found out the price £600 i respectfully withdrew citing that it was more than i payed for my other grey that was killed by hit and run a few months earlier. The breeder said it wasn't all about money but a good loving home...

About spaying & neutering (rant warning!)

My two lads will be 4 years in July and are unnetured. I plan to keep them so. After all we don't castrate young boys. I had to leave one vet practise because i refused to have them done and was fed up of being told that they knew what was best for my dogs. If i could find a vet that would do...

Josie i'm so glad to hear he's back to his old wonderful self. It's also good to know that's he all fit and well and you can rest easy knowing that it was only a bug and nothing sinister. Enjoy your beautiful boy . Lennor

    Diet change

Great news it seems he's on the mend. I've not heard of any bug going around the likes of poor Dennis. Hopefully he'll keep improving and get back to his old lively self very soon.

    Diet change

Hi Josie, I really hope that Dennis will come out of this episode hale and hearty. Our dogs bring joy and happiness to our lives as an integral part of our family. If my boys were ill and i didn't know what ailed them I'd be beside myself with worry. I do hope that all will be well. It's...

    Diet change

Hi Josie, There must be an underlying problem somewhere. Ask the vet for a full health check including full blood works. If all comes back clear then he's gotten picky in his old age and he would eat when he feels hungry. Just offer him small morsels of his favourite foods perhaps he could be...

    Diet change

Hello Josie. There's another cooked food that's pretty good its Nature diet . My dogs have this when they go to kennels. It has no additives or preservatives and you can buy a couple of single boxes from Waitrose to try. I hope you find something he will eat soon. It such a worry when our pets...

    Diet change

Hello Josie. This could happen. Give him half of his meal in the evening. I started him on chicken and beef. I didn't give his full meal just 3/4 in the morning and half in the evening. WolfTucker do a variet pack you can try so you can work out which is his favourite . Perhaps you can give...

Within two weeks he put on weight and his coat and skin had improved . Hes now 3 1/2 years old and is the picture...

    Dry flaky skin

Thanks for your response. They don't have many baths as they don't smell. Rex doesn't roll in muck but Morgan loves to rub his head in fox stinky so on occasion has a head wash. Will get some coconut oil from Sainsbury

    Dry flaky skin

Recently Rex is suffering from very flaky skin. He's always suffered from excessive shedding. Lately though, i've noticed an abundance of dandruff when brushing. I use FURminator deshedding ultra premium shampoo . Both dogs have the same diet and use the same product and have soft shiny coats...

Rule for dogs driving in taxis?

I quite often use taxi when going to the vet hospital. The company ( dog friendly company) i use advise me to bring a cover for the seat and a dog seatbelt attachment. The seatbelt is a legal requirement I'm told

To squeek or not to squeek

I agree about the squeaker. I've got one that came out of a stuffed duck i use on night walks for home recall . Brilliant!!!

    Boxer and food

I agree with you at 9 yrs he doesn't need a change to a different raw. He's happy so that's all that matters. The bonus of a soft coat is delightful and if hes cuddly like Rex a joy to hug on the sofa while watching TV at night. I'm widowed so lovely companions. I think sight hounds are the best
