Miles, looking very serious, on his morning walk. Very early morning walk;)! Before "normal" people come in, so he can enjoy some off leash time.

My 2 cents - exercise as in “taking the dog out for walks” is probably one of the easiest parts. You get to turn off the worries of the world for an hour a couple of times a day, enjoy fresh air and a friend who loves you no matter what, get the blood flowing... what not to enjoy? Rain? Cold...

After winter break, we went back up to the mountains today, were you can look down on flying birds, breathe fresh air, and best of all - let Miles enjoy 5 hrs off leash!

What can be better than a walk by the lake on a warm Spring morning? Maybe sleeping late :) ... But can't have everything!

My 2 cents - I have a feeling that in general folks underestimate the time commitment having a dog really means. There may well be ways - arranging day care, etc.... And to some extend different dogs have different needs. But if life is such that you are away from home for most of the day...

When your playmate weighs 140 lbs, and you are only 95 - fast legs will save the day :) Miles The Ridgeback and a Mastiff friend.

For my benefit - assuming the dog is happy and enthusiastic about his 3 meals each day, would there be any reason to switch?

Right, that’s my fear... someone spots an off leash dog in a public area - and there is storm of condemnation from everyone and his grandmother on local social media outlets towards dog walkers. Yeah, we all get it - not everyone likes dogs, some people are afraid, there are some fearful /...

We are back to hiking in the woods, after winter hiatus during cold weather. Enough snow (and ice) on the trails to keep the recreational dog-walking folks on the paved and cleared roadways, which means Miles is running off leash, free to find and chase geese in a pond or follow the tracks...

J is just over 11 y.o., right? I don't know for sure, but I suspect that at some point worrying and feeling down about their health just becomes a part of life. He looks great though on those videos!

Went to a real forest today with Miles. Nice morning, well worth 25 min drive!

Jumping and taking a toy off a tree.. Not half bad, fun.
