    Vizela lifting back legs

No it’s not common in the vizsla , they should be sound on all 4 legs, usually that bunny hop you see is down to a condition called luxating patella , but you usually see it in small / toy breeds. I would guess if you are seeing that unnatural action in the dogs you see they have some form of...

    Retractable dog leads

I’ve used them so years, and and on the whole have no problem with them, they can be invaluable for a little free on for a dog that can’t be let off lead, my old bitch wa such a dog and the flexi gave her some good free room to sniff around, I have used them for two dogs at the same time, and...

    Thoughts on neutering?

Insecure fencing and children leaving doors , gates open will be a problem for any dog regardless of him being castrated or not . Humping cushions is not down to him being entire, that is a trading issue, castrated and entire dogs love humping things, you need to make it clear it’s not...

    Thoughts on neutering?

Most vets will try to get you to castrate around 6 mths old, it’s all down to income, they are a business remember and spay and neuter is a good income. Why should your dog roam to seek out bitches just because he is entire, do you have a secure garden , Would you allow him roam the streets...

    Phantom Pregnancy!

She`s your dog you make the decision when , if you are hesitant then go with your gut, don`t let the vet dictate to you.

    New puppy

I dont mean to sound rude, but a lot of things COULD happen at 4 mths of age, why the need to rush a spay just incase this or that might happen. there is no reason to rush either getting either done till you have to, the bitch wont have a season before 6 mths of age, and depending on her...

    Phantom Pregnancy!

Thats good to hear, medication wold be a last resort, personally I would leave having her spayed for a little while yet, I am surprised vet would suggest a spay while she is going through a PP, you should treat it the same a a real pregnancy or season, and wait the a appropriate time t...

freejumping competition in Germany, look at this mare's action! - Beautiful...

The reason they do this is to show a horses natural ability unhindered by a rider, it’s a way to see if they have a good jump or not

freejumping competition in Germany, look at this mare's action! - Beautiful...

Lovely mare, I would think this is a grading and / or sale event where they evaluate young horses for future disaplines ...and yes she is a warm blood, they are not all heavy in bone it will depend on her breeding and where she is from .

    Selling puppies?

My understanding is this, if you Re an unlicensed breeder and only have one or the odd litter. You are not obliged to inform the tax man... if you constantly breed then that’s another matter

    Mia the Cavapoo

Maybe because you brought it and continue to post “ white noise “ information when ever someone says different to you There is a clear difference between what they do in the US to the UK and Europe , most vets here will not neuter A pup that is less than 6 mths or had their first season...

    Mia the Cavapoo

I have to agree, spaying and neutering such young puppies is not normal practice here in the UK ( thankfully) Most vet practices here usually advize after first season, which is still to young in my opinion.

    Dogs in cars

Not really sure what the problem is, your not saying it was left alone in a car with windows up , but travels in a car with the cool air fan on, what’s so wrong with that, surely if the driver is comfortable with the cool air blowing then the dog will be too. Your not talking dogs left in cars...

    Excessive biting!

Mine to. I find removing your self gives a more immediate response, Figo was the worse of the worse for biting, and all the turning of backs , arms folding and making high pitched noises just intensified the game, the best way it to just remove the object of his fun.....YOU .... time out is...

    Cavapoo or Yorkie?

Are you making your desicion based on what you like the look of, because you have narrowed it down to two totally different temperaments, the yorkie. May look cute but it is a terrier at the end of the day, so if you have researched terrier temperaments and are happy with what’s involved then a...

    Cross breeding yes or no?

Look at the neo mastiff for instance you are now seeing less skin folds on the dog, the bulldog, is less exaggerated , and so on, changing standards takes time, it can’t happen over night, You can argue thatnbreeders of some breeds have been forced into making minor changes, because there is no...

    Cross breeding yes or no?

Do we , I think we might have years ago, but today it’s to no benefit to a breeder/ exhibiter to put a unhealthy dog in the ring, the KC introduced. “ a watch list “ of certain breeds that the best of breed had to go for a vet check before they are allowed to go in for best in show, I think it...

    Cross breeding yes or no?

@leashedForLife said ... I wasn't speaking of the U.K., but the U.K.C. in the USA. :D My mistake, thanks for clarifying

    Cross breeding yes or no?

Thats not quite right, professional handlers are not banned on the UK show scene, it’s unusual as we prefer to show our own dogs, ( owner/ handler ) but there are a few handlers who do it professional, basically we are to tight to pay someone the extoranate Fees the handlers charge in the US...
