Are there any human foods that you can try that won’t upset his tummy? When Lily wouldn’t eat ‘doggy ‘ food we tried a little spaghetti bolognese and she actually ate it, not sure if it has the wrong ingredients for Den though ( might have missed it on previous posts ;)) I feel your frustration...
We found the same when we lost Molly, we’ve lost many dogs over the last 40 years ( again, like you, mainly spaniels) but she was also very special and we still miss her so much after 11 months, I can’t bring myself to have another one, Lily our terrier missed her dreadfully but has now come to...
So heartbreaking, we lost our Springer last June and still find it so hard without her :( she was only 9 . So sorry the vets couldn’t help him, such tough times for you x
A couple of my friends have tried for a rescue dog, both experienced dog owners , own fenced in garden, beautiful common for walking on their doorstep etc etc, all the criteria needed for a happy dog but because their fencing wasn’t high enough and the ladies were in their early sixties they...
The prices are crazy! Even for rehoming ( not rescue) the owners are still asking £1000 for a dog that is 6 years old and selling due to having a baby  sad when a dog has to go due to a baby arriving:( Cockerpoos are getting on for £2000 in Surrey from some breeders, it’s only a cross breed...
Poor Den :( really sad when they are not enjoying their food (apart from human food ;)) and we always feel guilty too. I still can’t get Lily to eat her dog food at all , she may have a couple of bites but she’ll then walk away, I’ve thrown so much food away ! The only thing she’ll actually...
Good luck :) management can work very well if you have a calm dog, Molly did sleep in her crate at night so we could be sure she was ok , but she loved her crate anyway so that wasn’t an issue. Be interested to hear how you get on, much better to avoid surgery if you can.
Hi and welcome ! We had a Springer that damaged her cruciate, the vet wanted to operate straight away but after researching we decided to go down the management route, Molly was slightly overweight so we got her weight down with a good diet but also brought her a Muttknee brace which is made in...
Parsons are great little dogs but try for a show type as opposed to a working terrier, our Lily is so good and never bothers with chasing anything or disappearing down holes :D still has the terrier tendencies to be protective of all she surveys but it’s part of her charm ;) great with other...
I thought that too, the black lab looked quite chunky .The American cocker looks ridiculous in a gun dog group, did like the ‘working cocker’ though
