For what it's worth.. We lost our beloved boy very suddenly. He was 8. He was fine the day before, and gone next morning. On one hand - it was a quick death, with no long term illness. On the other hand - it was a huge shock to us, especially so that it happened during a rather difficult time...

Baby Miles is certainly missing interactions with other dogs. He is an extraordinary friendly and playful pup, even if still a bit awkward. Not sure what this period of isolation will do to his social skills, but at least he is not skipping a beat on physical activities. And on rare occasions...

Back seat drivers.....:mad: This one managed to turn all the lights on inside the car and activate roadside assistance call, before settling down. I think I like it better when I take my SUV, which has metal barrier behind which he usually sits.

Ha! But that's the point of having a companion at 20 months - to create twice the mayhem! Of course, comes with twice the fun, twice the love.... and 3 times the work to train and manage:-) If that's a concern, rather than the objective - I'd stay away from this idea... That said - if I could...

No matter what happens in the world - Baby Miles still needs his walks. As the virus spreads (horrifying numbers in NYC and surrounding areas) - deeper and deeper in the woods we must go, away from other humans. But it can be quite beautiful on the remote trails, and apparently there are plenty...

True.. although where we are (right outside of NYC) - we have to find a way to clean food not in plastic packages (like veggies, fruit), or avoid such food for a while. Some times I think there is a bit of overreaction... but then I see the counts jumping to new heights every day, and see...

Here “pets’ needs” are essential. Not sure if this includes puppy pickup, but I would assume that it does. How to prove it if stopped on the way there..... not sure either.

That’s the question I have been pondering over since the beginning, and unable to answer conclusively. My best guess is this: Assume your daughter or someone in her family is a carrier even if they have no symptoms. Assume that the dog is a “surface” through which virus can be transmitted...

NYC running out of foster dogs. I would expect the opposite... but maybe I underestimate the compassion humans show these days... or maybe misery just really loves company so much.

Some may see a gigantic bad-mannered puppy, but I see love saving the world :) A good hug helps always! Staying in is unbearable. We go out to whichever parks are still open, even if it means 20-30 min drive. No better distraction than a good dog walk! Stay safe, all :cool:

I would recommend going, just like I recommend all my friends in NYC to go to the country if they can. It's great that you are trying to think through the implications of the move for the puppy... but, IMHO, the decisions need to be made based of safety and health considerations for humans. If...
