I was talked into going, and - against my better judgement - taking Honey with me. :Bag Mum phoned the holiday rep, and even she said "these things happen. Just get yourselves away."
In a way, I'm glad I did. Milly loved it, and I got to spend so much more 1-2-1 time with her than I would have...
My SIL suggested my bro's best friend, which would have been ideal - he's already had Honey's seal of approval (she climbed onto his lap and promptly fell asleep :D :p ), I'd trust him, and he has a walled garden. And no dogs of his own.
But. He's already committed to looking after my bro's...

Good news; I can get Honey booked in for her spay.
Bad news; The dogs and I aren't going on holiday after all. :(
Explanation (in case it's not clear). Honey's come into season.
I'm gutted! I've been sitting here, racking my brains for an alternative, but I'm...
Update;
Mum's been on the phone to the agent this morning. Agent said she'll contact the resort and sort the issue out. Mum asked her to get them to put it in writing, which she said she'll do.
So hopefully, that's the end of the matter.
It's a lodge. What we didn't realise at the time of booking - in fact, not until we got the e-mail with our travel documents, is that we're staying at a resort run by one of the major resort operators (I don't want to name which one for legal reasons).
Tbh, I'm expecting to be in the twin room anyway, so there'd be no space for Milly, unless she slept under the bed (or squeezing on to mine, probably with the result that one of us end up on the floor with a nasty head injury - probably me :rolleyes:). So I'd much rather buy a single air...
I'm going to do that, too, except for me, it's eczema, not OCD. I'd much rather be on my own sheets and under my own duvet/quilt that leaving blood on their bed. :oops::oops:
Yeah, she's small for a lurcher. :) Actually, her ideal weight is about 17-18kg, but since she's getting on in years, keeping the weight off her is becoming harder.
Well, that's it, isn't it? One person's "small" is another's huge. :p
Other stipulations include "dogs must be on lead on...
We're due to go on a short break in a couple of weeks' time. There's 4 of us going for a girl's weekend away, and I'm taking my dogs (for those who don't know, that's a 20kg lurcher and a 1.7kg Chi.
I was looking through the booking documents yesterday and noticed that in the small print, it...
Another Seagull comment. (And me in another unsociable mood :oops::D ).
Out with both girls yesterday evening. I'd hoped for a short, toilet break walk, as they'd already had an hour's walk and 2 20min toilet breaks. They had also been out one 2 and a half hours earlier, but when you're...
I've been meaning to reply to this for ages. Finally got round to it.
That is so at odds with my experience. Many people comment on how small Honey is, and even when they know differently, some still refer to her as a puppy.
Like I said, she's been confused for a cat, a rabbit and I think...
Lmao. Tbf, when we had Max, we used to say the same about him;
We used to get so many comments about him - he was a Collie (which what we adopted him as, but as the years went on, and my knowledge of dog breeds grew, I began to suspect he was a spitz cross), GSD, Husky (he was half the size...
My 2 have treat dispensers in the freezer, ready for later and a colling mat each. Where are they? In the bedroom, Milly on the bed, Honey in her crate (probably).
The bedroom faces south. :rolleyes:

In the 7 weeks I've had Honey, I've started noticing the comments people make. Again. Here are some of the . . . Err . . . Best.
Honey:
"Is that a cat?"
"What kind of dog is that?"
"Look at the size of that!" (Usually accompanied by coming to a complete stop...
Milly Lurcher rarely barks. She does whine though. Constantly. Because she wants a walk. Because she thinks she should be fed. Because she's bored. Because she wants attention. . .
Honey Chi barks a lot more, but only for specific reasons.
