Thanks all for the reassurances that she will probably grow out of it. I'm hoping she's not one of the few who don't.....that would be an utter tragedy, I'm not sure what I would do as I am definitely not prepared to be home-bound!
Sorry I also meant to add that Piccolo ate 6 hours before I took her out, so it wasn't a food problem.
Someone told me ginger biscuits help. Has that worked for anyone?
Hi all. I'm concerned that Piccolo has chronic motion sickness but wanted to check with you all what your experiences of this have been.
When I collected her at 8 weeks old, it was a 1.25 hr journey back to my house and she vomited 4 times (spread out over the whole journey, the last vomit was...
Thanks all. Seems like there are wildly differing ways of doing things as always :)
I've been taking her into the bathroom, then into the bathroom with the water running, then into the dry bath, then into the bath with the water slightly running, etc etc, in small increments over the last 3 weeks.
Hi - sorry if this has been answered before.
I was wondering what age people gave their puppy its first bath? It would be especially helpful to know if you have a short-haired dog (I have a whippet). I have heard 12 weeks but I don't know if that's just an arbitrary number from the internet...
Thanks merlina.
Thanks! Mine is 10 weeks and sleeps from 10pm to 5:15 at the moment (I've just extended it from 5 to 5:15). She seems to be fine with that so when she's 12 weeks I'll try extending it a little again.
Thanks - it's going to make my life a lot easier!
As you have a whippet like me, can I ask how long your pup is sleeping through the night, and how old he is?
Thanks
Hi all - wondering about this, as with the weather being so nice, Piccolo wants to be outside quite frequently, even if it's just to lie on the grass and relax.
To be clear, I take her outside regularly for toilet breaks. What I'm talking about is outside of those times. I have read in a couple...
Thanks both that's really good to know.
That's the problem I know I'll have =/ She's way too wriggly and strong to hold in my arms and she starts making a lot of noise, it's just not possible to take her to visit places like that. I'm going to have to find another way before she has her second...
Hi all
I was wondering whether anyone had experiences taking their young puppies to pubs, and how it went?
I'd like my dog to be able to accompany me to pubs when she's older. I'll introduce her to the pub slowly of course, but I just wondered if anyone had any experience with this and what...
Thanks very much, I'll have a look online to see what they have. She struggles so much now that I'm not sure it would hold her securely, but I haven't looked into them in great detail so I'll have a look. Many thanks.
Thank you so much everyone. I'm so glad I asked. There was loads of good advice there, and I'll follow it all, thanks. I don't live on the coast unfortunately. But there are paved areas I can walk her after her 2nd jabs. And I'm going to get a carrier as she's too wriggly in my arms.
I feel...
Hi all
I'm a bit concerned about the length of time it will take for my whippet puppy Piccolo to be fully vaccinated. Before I got her I did the research and the consensus seemed to be that vaccinations would consist of 2 doses, administered 2 weeks apart. I also read that you're supposed to...
My pup is 9.5 weeks and I do sit, lie down, and come here with her about 3 times per day (with each session consisting of only 2 or 3 repetitions of each thing. She picked up sit and lie down quickly.
I do harness and lead training once per day, perhaps twice sometimes.
I have just started a...
Hi - thanks :) I carry her 2 or 3 times every day outside, either around the local area, to the vets, or to sit in the car for a bit (I must look like a loon!)
Thank you very much :) That's good to hear. Yes, it will be really good to be able to take her out for walks and I hope that tires her out more. She is a little zoomy machine :)
