Afternoon everyone,
Quick update here on last night!
Very similar to the night before, Skye wen't out prior to "bed time" and did a wee and poo! she wen't down at around 9:50pm, and I set an alarm for 12:50am, I got up, she was fine... no mess.. and she went out to do a week and settled back...
that’s a great idea. I’ll perhaps get out there today and create a bit of a “den”. I can’t imagine it will be an issue for the neighbours as it only needs be small
I also just wanted to say another huge thanks to everyone for your continued help and support. I definitely feel like I’m on the right track, although don’t want to get too carried away
Morning all, I hope everyone is well.
last night wasn’t bad at all! Bit tiring but we had no accidents.
I set her down at 10, then set an alarm for 12:50am. Took her out, she did a wee, then she went back off at about 01:05. My next alarm was set for 4am, again, no accidents.. got her outside...
:D I’ve just joked about that with my other half... can imagine the neighbours looking out... “there he is again, shadowing the dog with an umbrella... spoilt pooch!”
I’ve got some packet frankfurters in the fridge, the kids love them! Haha
I’m currently trying tire her out, she’s really playful tonight. Coincidentally, she’s just stopped playing twice, had a good sniff about and then gone to the back door, I’ve quickly ran to take her out but it’s...
I got given some “higher value” treats but have been using them sparingly as I wasn’t sure on the quality. They’re “Wagg training treats” for 8week old onwards.
@Hemlock , thanks for taking the time to reply and provide some good advice. :)
we've got three kids in the house so we're definitely used to sleepless nights, so what's a few more eh? :)
She's not too bad with her poos outside, she will always go to one spot, right down at the bottom corner...
@RGC .... I'll take anything I can get at this point! I can't imagine it will do any harm to give her a little belly rub before she pops out for the toilet! Thanks for the support and taking the time to reply :)
@JoanneF, I think it would definitely help if she went out just before bed. I do take her out but she just isn't interested!
That's a really good idea to add some corn in her food. I'll definitely be able to see how quickly that's working it's way through and if her evening meal is likely to be...
hey @Finsky, thanks for taking the time to come and help :)
I take your point about the bladder control and also the expectations. I didn't ever really have any expectations in terms of how easy or hard it might be, I assumed there would be a whole host of sleepless nights due to crying but I...
wow... lots of great replies! (again)... I'll start to work my way through :)
@JudyN, she's currently having Wainwright's Puppy (2-18months) Salmon and Potato, as this is what the breeder was using and recommended we continued with as we settled her in. In all honesty, I haven't given it much...
Good afternoon all,\
Just thought I'd come to give a quick update and hopefully get some more wisdom!
following my last post on Sunday, I noticed that Skye mainly barked at around 3:30-4:30 ish. So, I set my alarm for 2:45am so that I could come down and let her our, before she made a mess in...
