Sorry for the late response!
So I set the camera up on Thursday and I also left a note for our helper outlining what I wanted her to do. The first things was obviously let Maggie out straight away. Thankfully, she did this as soon as she arrive, gave her a frozen kong and then she carried on...
Caro Perry you are absolutely right.... I even said the same to my friend that it can’t be easy hovering and moping etc with Maggie around. We also are open plan, so there is no where to put her either whilst our helper is busy downstairs. I think Maggie’s behavior was also a concern for me too...
Yes, I have thought about waiting for a second time. This will be Thursday when she is back in and she spends the majority of the time upstairs, so will be a lot easier. Today she was downstairs cleaning, hoovering, moping etc, so it probably would have been a lot easier for her to have Maggie...
Also just to be clear, I did not install the app to try and catch her out. I had no idea anything out of the ordinary was happening. I just set up the app as I couldn't get home from work yesterday to take her out so wanted to check in on her and make sure she was ok. Today is only the 2nd time...
Thank you for your comment and to @arealhuman too. We live in Saudi, so helpers are very common here and she works PT for me but is the FT helper of my friend. I really thought we were on the same page with our puppy and that she was taking good care of her when she was there. She let the puppy...
I don't know what to do or how to handle the following......
Twice a week I have a helper come to clean our house and watch over our puppy whilst she is there. I work 4 hrs each morning 8-12. (I manage to get home the other days for a bit to let the pup out for a wee, but not on the days the...
I totally agree. We got our puppy too early but out of necessity. She did not come from a good breeding background or good home/living environment. However, we do think some of the issues we are having now are because she did not spend long enough with her littermates. She is not very sociable...
If Fudge is howling the whole night and as you say yourself, it was too early for him to go, the new owner must have the puppy in their bedroom for a few weeks. If they are in a crate even better, and the new owner can soothe/hush the puppy when he is feeling scared and lonely. We got our puppy...
I tried this today but when she realised it was just kibble and not anything she regards as yummy, she just walked away and went and lay down!!!:D:D. She clearly has had enough of her current food! Got out a bit of yummy stuff and voila, she did everything I asked!!!
Thanks - some useful info here. We are dealing with a number of other issues, so I would rather sort this one out before it becomes another one added to our list! She doesn't seem to enjoy the Canin so I am happy to try another one, especially if it is better for her. I will go on Saturday and...
So our puppy has become a bit of a fusspot with her usual kibble. Totally my fault, as when she wasn't eating her usual amount, I added some yummy leftover chicken or salmon to entice her!! Now she is turning her nose up at plain boring kibble!! We are almost at the end of the bag so thought...
It has been almost one month since I posted about the ankle biting and @Mrs S, it is improving so hang on in there!! The children no longer wear socks around the house and this has helped for them. Our pup has stopped actually biting my skin (mostly!!) and now just hangs on to my trousers...
Our Puppy is only 4 months, but when should she be spayed? I have read some advice saying after she has had her first season and been in heat and other articles say around 6 months whether they have been in season or not. Any female pup owners have any advice?
So I see to be on here quite a lot at the moment.
So brief background. 4 month old puppy - had her since 7 weeks. Probably left Mum too early but situation meant we needed to take her then and offer a better environment. She has a few issues going on which we are trying to deal with. We...
I love this idea. I normally just take a lot of the same thing but I like the fact that you can differentiate the level of treat! Today I made her work for her lunch whilst walking. Put some in the grass outside and she had to hunt for it and the rest for eye contact when walking (have a major...
thanks for replying! It's confusing isn't it!! Yes, the late night kibble has resulted in her sleeping until past 6:30am, success!! Yay!! But I think that might be affecting b/fast appetite. She has kongs sometimes when we leave her in her crate, or when she needs to calm down and leave the...
Ok, so breakfast was not a hit today either.....and then I remembered something which may be affecting things. Our pup was waking up really early, around 5.30am. Someone suggested giving her a bedtime snack as we put her in a crate for bed. I started giving her just 1 or 2/8 of her kibble...
