Don’t worry I intend getting one first and then leaving at least a year before getting another as I had 20 months between Rusty and Pepe. I would dearly love two but hubby thinks at the moment to just have one this time. The trouble is Pepe had a lot of health problems in his last two years and...

    Grief of losing dog unbearable

Pepe slept in his basket in our room most of his last year as he had lost nearly all his sight and I couldn’t bear to think of him sleeping alone in the kitchen anymore after we lost Rusty in May last year. They both slept in our room from February last year as we were having our kitchen...

He too had anaemia in 2017 which was treated With Prednisone for 10 months and also omeprazole. He then injured his front paw which had to be...

    Advice on euthanasia please

I also found Pepe was forever drinking in the last week or two and I expect that took away his appetite as well the vet did suggest about restricting his water intake which was very hard knowing he was so thirsty due to his kidney disease.

    Cateracts

Pepe had been poorly the year before in 2017 with anaemia which was treated with steroids but he was on them for 10 months as advised by another specialist (North Downs specialist referrals) in Bletchingly Surrey and I can’t help but wonder if that was why the cataracts developed so quickly he...

Are there any dog breeds you wouldn't own? or don't like?

I have had toy poodles all my life a total of 6 and I love the breed they are very intelligent and are no more yappy than a lot of other small breeds. I lost my last two pictured last year Rusty in May 2018 and Pepe in November 2018 and am totally lost without them. I have had both dogs and...

Rusty was 13 and a half so I knew he was not going to be around for many more years but it was very sudden he had lost weight and so we had blood tests done and they showed his liver enzymes were extremely high so the vet wanted to do xrays immediately which sadly showed a growth near his liver...
