    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

Thank you.... yeah that’s been me this morning, up and down, up and down, but it certainly works, I had the best play time with him this morning, applying the time out! Everyone else was still in bed so it gave me a good opportunity to try it out. Then when the others got up, I showed them and...

    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

Phew.....Well that’s good to know! He appears to be quite clever so he’s probably realised what I’m trying to do.... A positive (well at the moment anyway, I’ll not hold my breath quite yet)... took him out for a wee, and because we are rewarding outside wees, he started to get all excited...

    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

Thank you so much, I’ll try him with the time-out behind the safety gate and see how we get on. I’ve ordered a flirt pole rope play thingy, is that what you mean @JoanneF? And good to know it’s normal, I think??!

    Help.... snapping, biting and nipping!

The naughty Flint has arrived.......after 5 days! Ok, positives first.... he comes when we call him, he sits and lies down when give the command, he’s asking and going to the toilet outside, with only the odd little accident. He slept in his crate, woke at 2 for a wee, then went back in his...

What’s best to put in a Kong?

I’m unsure what to put in a Kong toy, the treats I have are so small they easily fall out, which will just not keep him occupied for long. Going to use it for separation training

    My fur baby has arrived......

Thanks all..... he is really a super cutie, but very mischievous! Don’t worry, I’m under no illusion, I’m sure it will come...... I just think at the moment he’s far better than I thought he’d be! He had a little morning poo at the door this morning before the hubbie could get him out. Due to...

    My fur baby has arrived......

We finally brought him home yesterday and what a little pleasure he is..... We’ve called him Flint and he’s now 8.5 weeks old. He’s going to the door when he needs to go to the toilet and since yesterday we’ve only had 2 small accidental wee’s at the door before I’ve managed to get him out. But...

    Anything else I need?

Thank you, some great advice. What’s the best reward treat to give a puppy? I read somewhere that the treats should come out of their food daily recommended allowance? Would you agree? And @Michele83 .... bum bags are so ‘on trend’ at the moment, I have one & loads in the shops :)

    Anything else I need?

Great thank you, plenty of old towels and a pet carrier it is! Yes please x ...... My plan so far.... is to be with him during the day and make sure I take him in the garden at least every hour. If I see him ‘going’ on my carpet, to swiftly pick him up and take him outside. I’ll reward every...

    Whippet puppy - help please!

Hi, I’m in a similar situation to yourself, I’m due to get my first whippet pup in just over 5 weeks time. I was completely against the idea of putting him in a crate as I felt it would be cruel. However after doing my research & finding ways of using it as a positive experience, I’ve changed my...

Help.... Collar? Harness? Stop pull? Non-pull? Retractable???.....

I’m a little overwhelmed with the variety of collars, harnesses and leads out there. I’ve walked into the pet shop numerous times and still walked out with nothing. We are due to collect our new Whippet pup middle of August. We will have a 2.5hr drive back with him, we’ll need to keep stopping...

    Hello...

I love the name blue, unfortunatly a friend of mine has a full blue whippet called Blue, so it would feel wrong pinching his cool name and calling our little man blue. But thanks for the suggestion x
