    Terrorised by cats!

You seem to have reached an impasse with the cats’ owners. I suggest that you have every right to give the cats a thorough soaking should they place themselves in a situation which is dangerous for them. You’d be doing it for their protection. With luck, the wind behind you and three Hail Marys...

First mix of the new season.

Loads on the Common at Witley when I was at school there (during the Crimea).

First mix of the new season.

Was this culinary concoction last publicly aired in the first scene of the Scottish play at Stratford? Excuseme, couldn't you locate an adequate supply of "eye of newt" or even "toe of frog"? All sounds yummy.

    The Dog Cafe

We are of the same mien, Biker John, but you’ve already made provision for her should the worst happen. Yes, she would be lost but you can’t do anything about it. Just enjoy her while you both can and listen to lovely music. I’m in an unfortunate situation currently - Mabel had five dental...

    The Dog Cafe

Biker John, you have my respect especially with regard to your affection for sighthounds in general and whippets in particular. However, I think that the foster approach would be the best course of action. I think you must put the dog's wellbeing first. I know that this may sound harsh but what...

    Rocket in leafy salads.

Many thanks, Mad Murphy. Tried that this eve - big success. However, the lemon drizzle cake was an outright failure.

    Psychosymatic limp?

No difference in size. Perhaps it’s an Apple mini iPad issue. I’ll have a try with the MacBook Pro. If that fails I’ll email it directly to you. Many thanks. Good grief, it’s done it.

Have just tried that, JoanneF to no avail but many thanks for your suggestion.

    Psychosymatic limp?

Actually, Hemlock, it was a Veterinary Chiropractor we saw. I think we’ll have to go back. It was our first visit and things got in the way of a subsequent meeting. Your faith in such is reassuring.

    Psychosymatic limp?

This is an addendum to my message yesterday. I’m touching on previous concerns regarding harnesses. I’m trying to attach a photo of Mabel in her “Perfect Fit” harness, however the file is ‘too big’. How do I reduce it?. I’d appreciate opinions from those ‘in the know’ whether this harness is...

    Rocket in leafy salads.

JudyN, I know you’re a veggie. Have a go at aubergine boats.

    Rocket in leafy salads.

Will have to try that. Do you dry them after draining them? Air fry at 180?

    Rocket in leafy salads.

You can make proper’ chips but it can be a fag. I’ve found Albert Bartlett efforts are pretty good. Have a look at YouTube as there’s lots of ideas and help. My latest is Lemon Drizzle Cake (for guests - I don’t have a sweet tooth) and cheese soufflés.

    Rocket in leafy salads.

Precisamente - it’s just a mini oven so you’re not wasting time and energy waiting for it to heat up. The term ‘air fryer’ is something of a misnomer. We’ve had super results over the past year. We’re still in the experimental stage. We’ve had perfect roasted dinners and casseroles. I can’t say...

    Psychosymatic limp?

A good point, Hemlock. Mabel is occasionally ‘labouring’ on one shoulder. The vet can’t find anything wrong. I’ve got her on YouMove advanced. I’m aware that she skids on hard surfaces - hall and kitchen - so I try to confine her to carpeted or grassy surfaces. However she does have a mad dash...

    Rocket in leafy salads.

I quite enjoy rocket but only as a balanced combination. It can be (or with my taste buds) overwhelming of other ingredients. The same goes for balsamic and for curries - for me curries can either be a fragrant combination or food that hurts. Has anyone got an air fryer? Now there’s a discussion...
