Why did you choose that sort of dog?

Hmmm... we always had dogs growing up. First was a lab called Lucy who died of old age when I was very young. Then we had a collie x called Sheena and a rescue white GSD x lab called Toffee. She had so, so many issues... all resulting from zero training and she was quite a big dog. She belonged...

    Help

This was my dog. He mouthed constantly as a pup, chewed everything, used to play a 'game' where he'd stand outside barking to get me to chase him or run away with something into the garden he wasn't supposed to have and wouldn't come back, was 4.5 months before he was completely house-trained...

Training naughty puppy while naughty toddler is around.

I'm not going to lie, it is difficult. We got Ted when my children were 1 and 3. My youngest used to stand at the window crying when I took him out for the toilet  we had a crate and a stairgate across the kitchen for when we all needed a break from each other. Ted was a very full-on...

    Have a poorly girl

I haven't heard anything about it up here. Ted's back to normal now. Makes sense though. The winter has been really mild this year too which probably doesn't help.

    Have a poorly girl

What's the virus that's going round? Ted was ill the other day. Sick and no appetite. Sometimes he doesn't eat his breakfast right away so didn't think much of it. By the time I went to bed I was ready to take him to the vets in the morning but he ate some tuna. He's been fine since... can they...

Do people get your breed confused with something else?

90% of the walks I go on, people ask me if Teddy is a red setter... probably because he's red and a very large and leggy cocker. I also get a lot of people asking if he's a cross or sprocker.

    Cross Breeding, yes or no?

Pomskys are popular because people think they will get a "miniature husky" I've seen them advertised for £2000

    Deposit on a puppy?

I did pay a £200 deposit for Ted. But this was after I'd seen him. I think deposits are normal but I definitely think it's unreasonable to expect someone to pay it for a dog they haven't met. And I wouldn't pay a deposit for a puppy I hadn't seen. In hindsight, I would've waited for a KC...

    Sure signs of autumn..

The kids have started school. I eat more chocolate because I need the extra insulation I'm looking forward to Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas. I LOVE the festivities this time of year.

On a side note. How cute is my Mum's new dog. Poor Rosie passed away in April. She had cancer and degenerated quite quickly :( so my Mum has rehomed little Maia. She is a pom x poodle and very cute.

    Dog smells.

I haven't rode for years but when my daughter had her first lesson a few months ago, I walked on the yard and was like, ahhhh! Nostalgic, comforting smell of horses. Ted smells like warm laundry. Not of washing powder or anything just like warm cotton sheets. My sister in laws bulldog stinks...

    Teddy's Diary

Quick update: we have mlved from Scotland back to England. Ted has matured in to the loveliest dog we could wish for. All the hard puppy months and training have paid off. He's brilliant in the house, if he has to be left while I'm at work, with the children, off the lead etc. Etc. Unfortunately...
