Dont know his exact mix, a lot of greyhound in him, possibly some saluki.
He has tremendous muscles and is very fast, will pinch food at every chance and loves trying to get
into my koi pond.Think he may have been a courser,he has no dew claws and was found wandering
the streets in the north east
He is just warm all the time, resting or playing, never had a shorthaired dog before so i dont know if they
are naturally warmer to the touch but I can actually feel the heat coming off him if he sits nearby,
I know it sounds weird but other people have commented on it.He doesnt tend to drink...
Hi
I am wondering why my rescue lurcher is always very warm, he is in the best of health,
eats well and full of energy.Had him for 4 months now, he is very short haired, very little
fur on his chest but is always very warm no matter what the ambient temperature is.
He does tend to curl up into...
Just a bit of a update, Vinny is totally settled in now, never leaves my side, got him walking perfectly on the
lead except when he spots something furry moving fast.Still can be reactive to other dogs, i always muzzle him
on walks and keep him away from big dogs, there is a danger that he may...
Cardiologists are not cheap, cost me £830 for a 5 minute scan, and 10 minutes
for the vet to look at the result which was not good.Dont think I was there for 40 mins.
If they ask if you are insured before the examination, you know its going to expensive.
Fraid I have lost all trust in Vets,its...
Same thing happened to Monty when was a pup, happily running round with a stick in his mouth pointing forward,
tripped up and it jammed into the roof of his mouth, after very expensive and mainly useless treatment, they said
it was a minor injury and just gave antibiotics. If angle of entry had...
So sorry to hear about your loss, I posted last year about my dog Monty who had heart failure,
I was warned that he could die suddenly at any moment which seems to be what happenned with Tom.
I realize what an awful shock it must have been but it was a real blessing that he was spared the...
Just been through a similar thing, My dog was happily digging on the beach 2 months ago, now hes
gone also aged 8, I know what you went through and I am really sorry,At least he had a happy 8 years
and hopefully you have many good memories of him.We must make the most of our time with our furry...
Only reason I might have done a dna test would have been to establish his mix and get some
insite into his expected behaviour and possible future heath issues, dont mind what he is.
After reading all the reviews on dna testing , I am going to pass on it anyway
Thanks for the info,i did have doubts about the dna testing after reading that many companies ask for a photo
of the dog to put on the certificate, one comment on Amazon said that after recieving his dna the company
confirmed he definately was a rabbit :) .Will deff bear in mind the comment...
Going to do a dna test on him to hopefully find out exactly what he is, would be good to know.I dont
want to teach him to do party tricks, just the basics, down and stay but most important recall,he has
slipped the lead twice during walks in the wood ,never run far away and come back when I...
He has been in a lot of foster homes but never been adopted, some of his fosterers said he frightened their children
when he barked at other dogs, possibly no one has had to time he needs to properly address his problems,he needs
a lot of walk to heel work and dog socialization, but most of all...
we did wonder exactly what he was, he needs a lot of work to build his confidence up,took him to a friends
house today, wouldnt settle, just whined all the time with his tail between his legs Suppose with him having so
many homes,he doesnt know where he is, fine when I got him back home,hes...
I have submitted a complaint to the vets who Monty to sleep, without going into details, they spent over an hour
doings tests and scans that were not needed before they did it, which made both him and I suffer during the wait.
I have a new friend now, maybe premature but he is a lurcher who...
Glad I took so many pics of him, hundreds
Actually didnt like him as a pup, had a very old dog when we got him, he went on a takeover mission, bed, toys, dad,
he was very willful and hard to train but became the best dog anyone could ask for, never left my side and every
time I walked him someone...
